Soratsugu Madoka, alias Enchu, begins as a courteous, introspective prodigy in Magic Law studies, sharing a deep childhood bond with Toru Muhyo and Yoichi Himukai. His youth revolved around tending to his terminally ill mother; her passing fractured his psyche, driving him to desert academia and join the forbidden magic sect Ark under Teeki’s manipulation. Embracing sadistic methods and outlawed spells, he turned his vengeance toward Muhyo and the Magical Law Association, fueled by bitterness over losing the Executor role to Muhyo, who deemed him too burdened by family ties to lead.
Enchu’s spiral saw him command vengeful spirits and engineer assaults on magical authorities, yet flickers of empathy endured—evident when his whispered entreaties roused Muhyo from comas. A confrontation with Muhyo’s faction eventually shattered Teeki’s hold, prompting Enchu’s repentance. Accepting punishment, he entered perpetual confinement in Arcanum prison, where he recommitted to Executor studies despite his age, clinging to the hope of redemption.
Friends like Biko and Rio regularly visit, supplying essentials and camaraderie. Enchu’s persona blends delicate mannerisms with turbulent emotions, including an unreturned romantic admission to Muhyo—omitted in select English adaptations. He savors tea, pastries, needlework, and marathon reading sessions, loathing mess and vulgarity. His expertise spans deciphering Page Klaus’s obscure poetry and subduing potent spirits.
In later events, Muhyo brokers a pact with Hades to shield Enchu from deeper corruption, reflecting enduring ties from their past. Though new adversaries emerge, Enchu’s arc remains a testament to fractured loyalties, resilience, and the haunting pull of redemption.
