Movie
Description
Yūri Eberwein originates from Ancient Belkan times as a singular entity. A program designed to overwrite the Book of the Night Sky transformed her into "Unbreakable Dark" (U-D), fragmenting her into multiple beings. This fragmentation led to the creation of the Materials, with Material-D forming the core of the Book of Darkness's Defense Program and later contributing to the Wolkenritter's existence. Her Examia energy triggered the Book of Darkness's destructive rampages across worlds.
In the movie continuity, Yūri serves as a guardian linked to the Book of Darkness, tasked with preventing NachtWal's berserk state and protecting its masters. Decades prior to the events of *Reflection* and *Detonation*, she arrived on the planet Eltria and encountered a young Iris. To communicate, she activated the Book of Darkness's translation system as Iris initially could not understand Belkan language. Eltria's scientific committee, believing her abilities could revive their dying world, invited her to stay. However, Yūri later became the scapegoat for the massacre of the committee members, including Iris's father figure Phil Maxwell, orchestrated by Maxwell himself. This event led Iris to falsely blame Yūri for the tragedy and seek revenge.
Sealed within an Examia crystal, Yūri reemerged in *Reflection*. Iris forcibly awakened and mind-controlled her using viral codes, compelling her to attack the Time-Space Administration Bureau mages. Iris referred to her as a "demon" due to the past disaster. In *Detonation*, under Iris's control, Yūri battled Nanoha Takamachi and later assaulted Tokyo alongside Iris Units. During a confrontation with the Materials (Dearche, Stern, and Levi), they regained memories of their shared past as cats living alongside Yūri and Iris. After being defeated by the trio, Yūri broke free from Iris's control. Phil Maxwell, revealed to be alive, intervened and captured her. Dearche, powered by Stern and Levi's mana, confronted Yūri in Trinity Blood Form. Despite Yūri's warning that Excalibur Trinity would revert her to her original cat form, Dearche executed the spell. Yūri transformed into a cat and embraced Dearche, fully freeing herself from Maxwell's influence.
Following these events, Yūri and the Materials accompanied the Florian sisters to Eltria. They successfully collaborated to restore the planet's vitality, fulfilling the original goal of the Planet Reclamation Committee.
Yūri's combat abilities center on the Soul Wings weapon system. Her attire, the Purple Sky Attire, shifts to a reddish hue when her defensive force field breaks and her destructive urges surface. She utilizes the Ancient Belka magic system for spells including Crystal Tree, Javelin, Napalm Breath, and Vesper Ring.
