TV Special
Description
Yuno, the main protagonist, begins as a first-year art student at Yamabuki High School, moving into Hidamari Apartments Room 201 to pursue her artistic dreams. An only child from Yamanashi Prefecture, her parents appear regularly.

Standing 144cm tall with a petite frame and fair complexion, Yuno features light-brown hair almost always secured by her signature X-shaped hairpins and light-brown eyes. Her typical outfit is a red blazer with black buttons, a white-collared shirt with a black ribbon tie, a red pleated skirt, black socks, and brown loafers.

Initially timid and self-conscious about her height and artistic skill, she doubts her abilities despite clear talent, envying peers like Miyako. Academic struggles in subjects like English deepen her insecurities. Friendships, especially with Miyako, gradually help her overcome shyness and develop maturity. As Hiro and Sae graduate and new tenants Nazuna and Nori arrive, Yuno strives to become a supportive senior, mentoring them in cooking and school life—though her lingering social quirks often lead to awkward or comedic moments.

Diligent to the point of working late into the night on art until she falls asleep at her easel, Yuno exhibits a kind, conscientious nature, forming deep bonds with all Hidamari residents. Embarrassment typically causes her to blush or flee, a frequent source of comedy. Recurring habits include dozing off unexpectedly, symbolizing her childlike qualities, and ending each day with a reflective bath.

Notable idiosyncrasies involve extreme reactions to alcohol leading to out-of-character behavior and dulled eyes; an aversion to traffic lights, goldfish, and watercolor paint; and significant difficulty swimming, requiring a swim ring to stay afloat. Her development includes grappling with future uncertainty, like selecting elective classes and lacking a defined career path compared to peers, yet she remains committed to her art.

Relationships drive her growth: Miyako is her closest friend and confidante, frequently sharing meals, baths, and beds; Hiro serves as a nurturing mentor; she actively supports Nazuna and Nori, seeing her former self in Nazuna's shyness. Throughout her journey, Yuno transitions from a hesitant newcomer to a more resilient individual, balancing enduring insecurities with moments of leadership and introspection.
