Tōsuke Iwasaki, an inventor specializing in electrical devices, possesses the ability to see spirits. His conviction that a spirit caused his mother's death in childhood fuels his mission to eradicate all spirits worldwide using technological innovations, shaping his initial antagonism toward the supernatural. Created for the 2015 film *Gekijōban Meiji Tokyo Renka: Yumihari no Serenade*, Tōsuke integrates into Kyōka Izumi's narrative route. He first encounters protagonist Mei Ayazuki when his car nearly hits her during a spirit pursuit, leading Mei to demand ¥1,000 for damages—unaware of its substantial Meiji-period value. Later hosting an electric light bulb exhibition to demonstrate technology's power against spirits, Tōsuke faces kamaitachi spirits that destroy his inventions. Confronting Kyōka reveals both his spirit sight and elimination goal, escalating when Kyōka's manifested dragon spirit Shirayuki threatens the town. Mei’s intervention resolves the Shirayuki incident, catalyzing Tōsuke’s incremental development. A post-credits scene reveals his collection of spiritual shards from the shattered mirror responsible for Mei’s time travel, indicating altered yet ongoing spiritual involvement. Following the film, Tōsuke joined the core cast in subsequent franchise media. The *Meiji Tokyo Renka: Full Moon* game solidified his role with a dedicated character route.
