Yūsuke Takahashi is a middle school student and classmate of Hinata Kawamoto. The son of a milkman, he serves as the ace of his school's baseball team and dreams of becoming a professional player. To pursue this goal, he plans to attend a high school in Shikoku known for competing in the national Kōshien baseball tournament.

Takahashi grew up with Hinata Kawamoto as her childhood friend. He holds deep respect for Rei Kiriyama, who achieved professional shogi status during middle school. Physically, Takahashi possesses dark, shaved hair, an athletic build, and notable height. His personality is well-collected, honest, and mature for his age, earning him admiration for his composed demeanor.

In one instance, after watching Takahashi hit a home run in a baseball game, Hinata prepared a home-cooked meal for him but was unable to deliver it.
