Description
Born December 28, 2026, Chris Yukine is the daughter of violinist Masanori Yukine and vocalist Sonnet M. Yukine, inheriting Japanese and American ancestry. Her parents died in a terrorist bombing during a humanitarian music trip to conflict-ridden Val Verde when she was eight. Kidnapped in the aftermath, Chris endured sex slavery before rescue and return to Japan. However, official protection was preempted by abduction at the hands of Finé. Isolated in a remote mansion, Chris suffered physical torture, sexual abuse, and psychological manipulation while Finé exploited her latent abilities for destruction, cementing Chris's deep distrust of adults and authority.

Initially collaborating with Finé under the false belief they shared a goal of ending conflict, Chris adopted Finé's methodology of eliminating those with "the power and will to fight." Wielding the stolen Nehushtan Armor Symphogear as an antagonist, she attacked other Gear users, though she internally struggled with harming innocents and despised how her singing activated Solomon's Cane, a relic Finé used to cause chaos. Repeated mission failures led to Finé abandoning Chris, triggering an emotional breakdown. This abandonment, combined with outreach from Hibiki Tachibana, Miku Kohinata, and Commander Genjuro Kazanari, prompted her defection. She rejected the Nehushtan Armor and permanently bonded with the relic Ichaival, symbolizing her shift in allegiance. Her defining moment was sacrificing herself using a Swan Song to protect others, overcoming her inherited hatred of singing born from her parents' tragedy.

Early portrayals showed a hot-headed, aggressive, and socially isolated individual, reacting to affection with flustered hostility or physical outbursts due to trauma. She retained high intelligence and academic achievement, demonstrating strategic improvisation in battles, though her decisions sometimes caused unintended destruction and guilt. Across subsequent seasons, she gradually softened, becoming more open and protective of allies while remaining awkward in social interactions, especially concerning physical intimacy. Her journey involved reconciling with music, transitioning from viewing it as an instrument of destruction to embracing it as a means of connection and protection, fulfilling her parents' dream. Key developments included mentoring Kirika Akatsuki and Shirabe Tsukuyomi in GX, overcoming her fear of relationships and dismantling emotional barriers.

Physically, Chris stands 153 cm tall without heels and has purple eyes. In Season 1, her knee-length lavender hair was styled in twin-tails splitting into three wavy strands each, featuring an ahoge; her attire was a maroon one-piece combat outfit with a black choker, translucent chest/back cutouts, detached long sleeves, ribbon-gartered stockings, and t-strap heels. Post-Season 1, her hair turned permanently white, secured with pink scrunchies. Casual wear evolved: G featured a layered red/maroon dress with white shorts and thigh-high socks; GX introduced a lilac sleeveless shirt with red shorts and black thigh-highs with rose-button garters. Her pajamas consisted of a light-blue shirt and puffy shorts. As a child, she wore a pink dress with knee-high socks.

Her combat capabilities center on Ichaival, manifesting as anti-Noise armor. Her Armed Gear typically forms forearm-mounted crossbows firing homing energy arrows, adaptable to pistol configurations for close combat. Enhanced capabilities included gatling guns (BILLION MAIDEN), missile launchers (MEGA DETH series), and barrier-piercing arrows (ARTHEMIS series). Many attacks reference rock/metal bands (e.g., NIRVANA GEDON, GIGA ZEPPELIN). Specializing in area bombardment and artillery, she employed tactics like missile-surfing. Combination attacks include S2CA Tri Burst (with Hibiki and Tsubasa) and Vitalization (six-member X-Drive). Her physical endurance without the Gear was comparatively low, struggling with standard training. Outside combat, she displayed a fondness for food, particularly spaghetti and sweets.
