Description
Emerging from a mysterious egg acquired by Gao Mikado, Bal instantly bonds with his human companion despite initial bewilderment about this new world. As a newborn Sun Dragon, he bursts with childlike energy and excitable innocence, habitually ending phrases with "Bal" and referring to himself in the third person. Minor frustrations easily trigger tantrums, rules baffle him, and he possesses a colossal appetite—particularly for pizza, an obsession that once left him too physically bloated to fight effectively during a Buddyfight.

Bal's appearance transforms dramatically: his baby dragon form sports orange scales, red hair, head-mounted goggles, and a chest sword resembling the sun. As an adolescent, he grows larger, adorned in white and gold armor. His ultimate evolution into Super Sun Dragon Balle Soleil reveals an orangish-red body accented by blue gems, neon blue blades, and a silver mouthpiece. This powerful transformation surfaces later, ignited by a deep-seated urge to destroy his rival, Demonic Demise Dragon Azi Dahaka, who previously injured Abygale (Gaito Kurouzu's buddy). Even in this mighty form, Bal's core exuberance remains, tempered only by slight maturity and battles with depression tied to his destiny.

Bal's key abilities are diverse:
* He manipulates his chest sword into various objects like markers or hammers, which adapt seamlessly during combat in Buddyfights.
* Unconsciously, he creates potent Impact Monster cards by drawing on blank cards—a latent power even he doesn't initially recognize. Examples include crafting "Jackknife Full Liberate Cannon!" for Tasuku Ryuenji and "Ghoul Deity Arts, Dance of Yashagami!" for Zanya Kisaragi.
* He possesses the unique ability to communicate with cats, demonstrated when he translated a cat's speech for Abygale and Gao.

His journey centers on mastering Buddyfight fundamentals. After repeatedly disregarding rules and fleeing criticism, he finds a patient mentor in Star Dragoner Jackknife, who teaches him proper gameplay. This guidance ultimately helps Bal secure his first legitimate victory fighting alongside Gao. His rivalry with Azi Dahaka intensifies fiercely throughout the World Buddy Cup tournament, culminating in decisive battles where Bal's abilities become critical to thwarting the antagonist's schemes.

Bal's relationship with Gao evolves from playful dependency into a partnership tested by fiery arguments—like their pizza-fueled conflict in D Episode 3—yet reinforced by their mutual dedication to becoming the world's strongest Buddyfight team. Their enduring bond is symbolized by the "Best Master and Disciple" epithet linked to promotional cards featuring Bal and Jackknife.
