Movie
Description
Chika Takami hails from Uchiura, a coastal town in Shizuoka Prefecture, where her family runs a ryokan with ocean-view hot springs. As the youngest of three sisters—Shima and Mito—she shares her home with a dog named Shiitake. Growing up in this rural environment initially made her feel ordinary, especially compared to accomplished childhood friends You Watanabe and Kanan Matsuura. This changed when witnessing a μ's performance in Tokyo inspired her belief that determination could transform average individuals into inspirations. Motivated by this, she founded the school idol group Aqours at Uranohoshi Girls' High School to combat its impending closure due to low enrollment.

Her personality blends persistent optimism with sociability and charisma, driving her to encourage others' potential. She demonstrates resilience during setbacks like Aqours receiving zero votes in an early Tokyo competition or facing internal challenges, though she sometimes hides vulnerability to protect group morale. Generally cheerful, she exhibits impatience and reacts strongly to conflicts among friends, actively mediating disputes. Dedication to friendship is central, seen in her efforts to befriend transfer student neighbor Riko Sakurauchi and navigate tensions with You, who felt neglected as Chika pursued new relationships. This culminated in Chika running to You's home to reconcile, affirming her earnest commitment.

Academically challenged and often impulsive or clumsy, she nonetheless possesses talents in gymnastics (horizontal bar), table tennis, calligraphy, softball, and karaoke. Her appearance features bright orange hair tied into three small braids on one side, secured by a green clover-shaped hair clip, and warm pink eyes. Her image color, mikan orange, reflects her favorite fruit and ties into regional agricultural promotions she joined.

After Uranohoshi's closure, Chika and Aqours transitioned to Numazu High School. In the movie "Over the Rainbow," her leadership was tested when third-year members Dia, Kanan, and Mari vanished during an Italy trip. She spearheaded the search, traveling there with the remaining members and You's cousin Tsuki as guide. Her problem-solving emerged as she deciphered clues like interpreting "Yohane" as Saint Giovanni to locate the group in Florence. She maintained morale through setbacks, including a botched live show that reignited doubts about Aqours' viability without the graduated members. The trip culminated in a Rome performance convincing Mari's mother to accept her idol ambitions.

Back in Japan, she helped organize a final joint livestream concert with Saint Snow, rekindling Leah Kazuno's passion for forming a new idol group. She also facilitated collaboration between distrustful Numazu High main-campus students and Uranohoshi transferees, uniting them to prepare for Aqours' farewell performance at the dilapidated school. This event, attended by thousands, symbolized closure as the old school was permanently shuttered. In a post-credits scene, her legacy inspired two girls on Uchiura's beach to form a new idol group, implicitly naming it "Aqours" in the sand.
