Movie
Description
Eli Ayase is a third-year student at Otonokizaka High School and a key member of the school idol group μ's, leading the subunit BiBi with an aqua blue image color. One-quarter Russian, she inherits traits from her grandmother and occasionally uses the Russian word "хорошо" (harasho), meaning "good" or "okay." She has a younger sister, Alisa Ayase. Her family lived abroad during her childhood, leading to some difficulty adapting to life in Japan. Her grandmother's status as an Otonokizaka alumna motivates Eli's dedication to preventing the school's closure. Trained in ballet from a young age due to family tradition, Eli gave up after repeated setbacks and failures in competitions, causing her to distance herself from performing arts initially.

As the former student council president, Eli is disciplined and responsible. She initially opposed μ's formation, believing school idols were "amateurs" whose activities might harm the school's reputation, a stance influenced by her ballet experiences and rigid approach to saving the school. Despite her cold exterior, she secretly filmed μ's early performances, intending to discourage them by highlighting flaws. Her perspective shifts after witnessing the top school idol group A-RISE perform. Eli eventually joins μ's, moved by Honoka Kosaka's passion and her sister Alisa's encouragement, later becoming the group's primary choreographer due to her dance background.

Eli combines maturity and strategic thinking with hidden vulnerabilities. Respected schoolwide and often called "Eli-senpai," she contributes significantly to μ's promotional tactics, like organizing street performances in Akihabara. Though generally level-headed, she exhibits occasional gullibility, such as nearly eating plastic chocolate, and harbors a fear of the dark and haunted houses. She cares deeply for close individuals, particularly her sister and μ's members, and enjoys crafting accessories and quilting. Physically, she is tall with long blonde hair typically in a ponytail and light blue eyes.

In *Love Live! The School Idol Movie*, Eli plays a decisive role in μ's disbandment. After graduation plans are announced, she helps navigate the group's internal conflict about continuing beyond school idols. She formally communicates the third-years' decision to disband, emphasizing their commitment to a final performance celebrating all school idols. Her leadership is evident in organizing the nationwide school idol festival, symbolizing μ's legacy. The movie concludes with her indirect influence continuing through her sister Alisa, who joins the Idol Research Club to honor μ's impact.

Eli's development shows her evolving from a skeptical administrator to a dedicated idol who reconciles past ballet regrets with new passions. Her Russian heritage surfaces in recommendations for cuisine like borscht or pelmeni, and she identifies as part of the "milk faction" for chocolate preferences, favoring sweet varieties.
