Movie
Description
Misuzu Jinno attends Houshou Private High School as a second-year student. She possesses thigh-length copper-red hair, red eyes, and a generous bust. Her typical attire includes a short white coat, a black half tank top, jean short shorts secured with a black belt, and black knee-high boots. Some adaptations feature her wearing a necklace with either one or three rubies. Giant crabs later destroy her jacket, leaving her in reduced clothing.

Arrogant and selfish, Misuzu habitually bullies Mutsumi Oribe and Mami Miura, mocking Mutsumi’s insect expertise despite its vital role in survival. She leverages her appearance manipulatively, offering to show her underwear for favors or threatening classmates. Demonstrating lascivious behavior, she sexually assaults Chitose Naruse under the pretense of checking for parasites and gropes Mami to assert dominance. She initially refuses to help rescue abducted classmates, prioritizing her own safety.

Her background confirms she is a known bully at Houshou Private High, with Mutsumi and Mami as primary targets. She engages in transactional sex, including with a teacher to avoid an exam—an incident witnessed by Chitose that fuels their enmity.

After surviving a plane crash on Little East Island, Misuzu joins other survivors including Chitose, Atsushi Kamijo, and Mutsumi. She freezes during early insect attacks and opposes rescuing abducted peers. Later, she participates in retrieving Chitose solely to obtain her waterproof phone. She conspires with Atsushi to eliminate Mutsumi and Ayumi, though survival priorities cause this plot to dissolve. Following the crab attack that destroys her jacket, the group subdues and ties her up for endangering others. Mami rejects aiding her, signaling a power shift.

Her character arc diverges across media. The anime concludes with her tied and abandoned, while the manga depicts redemption. She evolves from antagonist to reluctant ally, acknowledging Mutsumi’s survival importance. In her final act, she sacrifices herself to release a lifeboat during a giant centipede attack, enabling the escape of remaining survivors—a heroic contrast to her earlier self-serving actions. Mami mourns her death, recognizing this change.

Relationships define her interactions: her dynamic with Mutsumi shifts from hostile bullying to grudging reliance, while her control over Mami diminishes. Her enmity with Chitose escalates from the teacher incident to assault. She forms a temporary alliance with Atsushi based on mutual self-interest, though it dissolves as circumstances evolve.
