TV-Series
Description
Rinka Aoba starts as the knowledgeable manager and classmate for the idol group Miracle☆Kiratts, later becoming its third member. Initially refusing to perform due to stage fright, she supported behind the scenes using her Pri☆Channel streaming and special effects expertise. Encouragement from friends Magical Ren, Mirai Momoyama, and Emo Moegi, coupled with reconciling with her older brother Yuzuru, helped her overcome her fear. This led to her solo idol debut in season 1, episode 15, marking the series' first debut without the standard process or uniform coord.
She has long indigo hair, emerald eyes, and often wears distinctive oval half-glasses, typically removing them during performances. Rinka strongly resembles her mother, Junko Aoba, and they are frequently mistaken for twins or sisters. Her family includes father Kenzaburo, mother Junko, and older brother Yuzuru. As children, Rinka and Yuzuru frequently pretended to host Pri☆Channel broadcasts, recording each other with PriCast devices. Their closeness faded when Yuzuru began associating with other children, creating emotional distance that contributed to her later shyness.
Personality-wise, Rinka is calm, serious, and academically inclined, often seen as a model student. She harbors a fascination for bizarre subjects like UFOs and cryptids, collects picture books on prehistoric creatures, and exhibits moments of extreme enthusiasm—particularly toward cute things like her self-created mascot, Silk. This obsession intensified by season 3, becoming a core aspect of her character. Her hobbies include reading and devising Silk-related improvements on her days off. She owns numerous Silk dolls and maintains a Silk diary. Her favorite food is apple pie, and her preferred idol coords feature cool, chic designs.
Aging from 13 in season 1 to 15 by season 3, Rinka participated in the Jewel Auditions during season 2, earning her Kindness Blue Jewel Coord. In season 3, she used the PriTamaGo device to raise mascots for the Princess Cup in Pri☆Chan Land, aiming to win Illuminage Coords and compete for Illuminage Queen. Her coords evolved throughout this arc, including Rainbow Sky Illuminage, Super Rainbow Sky Illuminage, and Castle Illuminage variants.
Her relationships are central: Yuzuru remains key to her backstory; Mirai and Emo are close friends and teammates she managed before joining as an idol; Silk serves as both her creation and emotional anchor. She also shares notable interactions, including mutual ship tease moments, with Sara Midorikawa.
Her birthday is January 25th (aligning with Japan’s "Make Day"), her blood type is A, and she holds several series "firsts": debut without standard procedures, solo debut before joining a trio unit, and debut using her preferred brand Secret Alice. She is the fifth glasses-wearing main character in the Pretty series, sharing similarities with Michiru Koda from PriPara regarding their cool-idol archetype, glasses removal during performances, and narrative roles.
