Description
Mirai Momoyama is the main protagonist of the anime Kiratto Pri☆Chan. She begins the series as a first-year student at Kirarigaoka Middle School and becomes a third-year student by the start of the third season, eventually entering high school after episode 153. She is the childhood friend of Emo Moegi, and together with their classmate Rinka Aoba, they form the idol group Miracle Kiratts. Mirai is classified as a lovely-type idol, and her preferred brand is Sweet Honey. Her catchphrase is "Kiratto☆".
Mirai lives with her younger sister Hikari and her mother, who runs a bakeshop called Patisserie la péche. She is curious by nature and enjoys finding the sparkling, good points in people and situations that others might overlook. Her personal motto is "You'll never know unless you try. If you don't know, then give it a try," which reflects her willingness to take on new challenges despite her initial shyness. Although she is introverted and dislikes being the center of attention, she is gentle, soft-spoken, and cheerful. She is also empathetic and strongly opposes bullying, snobbery, and injustice. Mirai has a thoughtful side and sometimes worries about her own abilities as an idol, but she sets those concerns aside when her friends need her support. She is optimistic and consistently looks on the bright side of things. Her hobbies include making sweets and drawing intentionally poor but charming illustrations. Her favorite foods are shortcake and eel. One of her secrets is that her sparkling smile can make even a crying child smile.
Mirai's motivation to become an idol is sparked when she and Emo are challenged by their classmate Anna Akagi, a renowned PriChan idol. Wanting to prove themselves, they make their own PriChan debut. Over time, Mirai grows to love being an idol and dreams of becoming a top PriChan idol alongside her friends. In the story, she serves as the central figure of Miracle Kiratts and often acts as the heart of the group, bringing people together and providing emotional support. She takes on leadership roles when needed, such as during the Jewel Auditions and the Princess Cup.
Key relationships include her deep friendship with Emo Moegi, who is more outgoing and tomboyish and often pulls Mirai into action. Mirai also shares a close bond with Rinka Aoba, the group's manager and producer, whose logical nature complements Mirai's gentleness. She develops a friendly rivalry with Anna Akagi and her team Meltic StAr, and she maintains warm connections with other idols such as the members of Ring Marry and the designer group. Her family, particularly her mother and little sister Hikari, remain important to her, and her home life at the bakery grounds her.
Over the course of the series, Mirai undergoes notable development. She starts as a shy girl reluctant to stand out, but through her experiences as an idol, she becomes more confident and assertive. She learns to balance her idol activities with school and family responsibilities. Major milestones include winning the Jewel Collection and becoming a Diamond Idol, participating in the Princess Cup, and eventually becoming the Illuminage Queen with Miracle Kiratts. By the end of the series, she has grown into a high school student who continues to pursue her dreams while maintaining her kind and optimistic nature.
Notable abilities include Mirai's talent for finding the good in others, which is frequently highlighted as her special skill. As a lovely-type idol, her performances are characterized by sweetness and charm. She has the unique ability to comfort others with her sparkling smile. She is a skilled singer and dancer, though she works hard to improve through practice. Her leadership emerges in crisis situations, where she is able to rally her friends and even rival idols to work together toward a common goal.
