Description
Emiru Aisaki, who transforms into Cure Macherie, is a character from the HUGtto! Pretty Cure television series. She is a sixth-grade elementary school student, approximately eleven years old, with a birthday on July 15th. Physically, Emiru is identifiable by her auburn hair styled into twin tails with red ribbons and her red eyes. She comes from a very affluent family of musicians and singers, living in a house reminiscent of a castle, and is classmates with Kotori Nono, the younger sister of the main protagonist Hana Nono.

In her everyday life, Emiru is an energetic, passionate, and strikingly confident girl who speaks her mind without hesitation, often ending her sentences with the verbal tic "nanodesu" to emphasize her points. Her most defining personality trait is an intense, often overbearing, desire to protect others, which stems from a place of genuine care but manifests as extreme caution. This leads her to take actions such as draining a swimming pool preemptively because it is dangerous or dousing a campfire out of fear of an accident, behaviors that other characters find bewildering. Despite her desire to be a hero who safeguards everyone, she paradoxically dislikes being looked after herself, preferring to be the one in charge of protection. Beneath this anxious exterior, she retains many childlike qualities, such as sleeping with stuffed animals and refusing to believe things without concrete evidence, including the fact that her best friend, Ruru, is an android until she sees proof.

Emiru is a gifted musical prodigy with absolute pitch. She is highly skilled at singing, composing songs, and playing multiple instruments, though her true passion is the electric guitar, which she sees as a symbol of freedom. Her love for the guitar initially causes conflict with her older brother, Masato, who holds traditional views and argues that a girl should play classic instruments like the piano or violin instead. This familial disapproval causes Emiru to hide her musical talents for a time. Her passion for heroism begins in earnest after she is rescued by Cure Yell, the alter ego of Hana Nono. Inspired, Emiru begins attempting her own unauthorized heroics under the self-made persona of "Cure Emile," creating a homemade costume and often causing well-intentioned chaos while trying to save people at a local supermarket.

Emiru's role in the story becomes critical with the arrival of Ruru Amour, an android agent from the antagonistic Criasu Corporation. Initially suspicious, Emiru bonds with Ruru over music, playing her guitar in a moment that helps awaken genuine emotions in the android. This friendship deepens when Ruru defends Emiru's musical choices against her brother's criticism. When Ruru ultimately defects from the villains, her shared desire with Emiru to become a force of good causes a single transformation device, a PreHeart, to split into two, allowing them to transform together as a duo. This event marks Emiru's official debut as Cure Macherie, known as the Pretty Cure of Love and Singing, alongside Ruru as Cure Amour. Their partnership is the most significant relationship in Emiru's life, as they function as a team in battle and as an idol unit called TWIN LOVE in civilian life.

Throughout the series, Emiru undergoes notable development, primarily learning to temper her excessive need for control. She discovers that true protection is not about preemptively eliminating every possible danger but involves trust, emotional support, and standing alongside her partner. Her powerful singing voice is not merely a talent but a key component of their abilities, capable of calming a crying infant, Hugtan, and even transforming negative energy into positive power. As Cure Macherie, her appearance changes dramatically; she grows taller and her hair transforms into long, curled platinum blonde twin tails. She wears a elaborate, layered, Lolita-style frilled dress dominated by shades of red, her theme color, and magenta. Her primary weapon is the Twin Love Guitar, which she and Cure Amour use to perform their signature purification attack, Twin Love Rock Beat. In enhanced forms, she gains features like rainbow ribbons or translucent, butterfly-like wings. In the series epilogue, which takes place over a decade later, Emiru has successfully achieved her dream of becoming a professional idol singer and guitarist.
