Description
Yukari Kotozume is a second-year student at Ichigo Field High School, initially defined by self-perceived detachment and frequent boredom. Her civilian appearance showcases sharp purple eyes and long wavy light purple hair, complemented by stylish attire. This typically includes a lilac trench coat secured with a lavender ribbon, a purple top, a gray pencil skirt, and purple boots. Seasonal adaptations feature light purple dresses in summer and sweater dresses with indigo tights in winter, consistently accented by magenta earrings.

Transforming into Cure Macaron, she embodies macaron and cat themes. Triggered by the phrase "Cure La Mode・Decoration!" and the Sweets Pact, her hair lengthens and darkens slightly while gaining purple cat ears and a tail. Her costume comprises a macaron-shaped hat adorned with magenta gems, a purple-and-white bodice with puffed sleeves, a layered macaron-resembling skirt, white opera gloves, and purple thigh-high boots featuring an anklet with three magenta orbs. Later evolutions include "Super Cure Macaron," marked by a lighter outfit with wings, and "A La Mode Style," presenting a ballgown design with a fluffy lilac hood. She introduces herself with: "With Beauty and Excitement! Let's・La・Mix It All Up! Cure Macaron! Is Ready To Serve!"

Personality-wise, Yukari exhibits a refined yet fickle demeanor, often teasing others to provoke reactions. She perceives a fundamental flaw within herself stemming from others viewing her as "perfect," which historically fostered loneliness and a futile childhood search for passion. Bonds with Usami Ichika and the KiraKira Patisserie group cultivate a sense of belonging, enabling her to embrace unpredictability and find joy in activities like baking macarons. While acknowledging persistent inner sadness, she learns to manage it through friendships and self-acceptance. This resilience manifests when confronting her younger self in antagonist Elisio's mirror world; she rejects surrendering to darkness, affirming enjoyment must be actively created.

Key relationships shape her growth. An early bond forms with the earnest Ichika, while a complex dynamic develops with classmate Kenjou Akira—their initial clash over Akira's selflessness versus Yukari's capriciousness matures into mutual respect and later romantic connection, highlighted by a duet love song. Her grandmother, Kotozume Shino, instilled etiquette and remains her sole known family. She uniquely tames the elusive Three-star Kitty and shows affection for the fairy Pekorin through gentle stroking.

Significant history includes her debut as Cure Macaron in episode 5: After repeated failed baking attempts with Ichika, she defends their creations from thief Maquillon, causing a cat-shaped macaron to become an Animal Sweet and enabling her transformation. Utilizing cat-like agility, she defeats Maquillon and restores stolen "kirakiraru" energy. Another pivotal arc involves exposing antagonist Julio (disguised as Rio). Suspecting his motives, she fabricates an "older sister" story to test him. Luring him into revealing his identity, she rejects his nihilistic worldview, asserting accountability for her choices and resilience against darkness.

Cure Macaron's attacks channel magical batter from the Sweets Pact. Primary abilities involve firing explosive purple bubbles, slashing with energy claws, and deploying macaron-shaped structures or yo-yos to ensnare foes via "Kirakirakirarun★Kirakiraru." Group attacks like "Sweets Wonderful" utilize the Candy Rod. Etymology reflects her traits: "Kotozume" combines "harp" and "claw" (referencing cats), "Yukari" means "affinity" or "violet" (aligning with her color), and "Macaron" denotes the French dessert central to her theme.
