Movie
Description
Akira Kenjō, a second-year high school student from Ichigozaka, possesses a gentle yet boyish demeanor and a fierce sense of justice, often likened to a loyal dog. Her civilian appearance features a tall stature, sharp red eyes, and short red hair later tied into a ponytail as she attends a medical institute. She dresses practically in a brown top under a beige-and-red button-up shirt, blue jeans, a dog-tag necklace, and tan boots, with seasonal variations and a pants-based patisserie uniform featuring a red-ribboned hat for dessert work.

Her personality centers on unwavering loyalty, particularly toward her chronically ill younger sister, Miku, her spiritual pillar. Akira regularly visits Miku in the hospital, bringing chocolate to cheer her. This devotion drives her to sacrifice her own life energy (Kirakiraru) to save Miku from villains. Often mistaken for a boy due to her appearance and mannerisms, she remains unbothered and occasionally displays a show-off streak. Her rationality and town familiarity make her reliable among peers.

Akira transforms into Cure Chocolat, the Pretty Cure of "Strength and Love," themed after chocolate and dogs. Triggered by "Cure La Mode・Decoration!" using a Sweets Pact and Animal Sweet, her hair brightens, lengthens with a dark brown streak, and gains dog-like ears and a tail. Her Cure outfit includes a chocolate-adorned top hat, a red-and-brown jacket with puffed sleeves, a chocolate cape, a cream pleated skirt over crimson shorts, and a choker with a silver tag. Enhanced abilities grant a sharp sense of smell for tracking foes. Attacks involve "Kirakira♪Kiraru♪" (creating force fields or homing energy), "Kirakirakirarun♪Kirakiraru♪" (encasing foes in chocolate eggs via energy blasts), and group techniques like "Three・2・Wonderful A La Mode!" and "Animal Go Round!" using the Candy Rod or Kirakiraru Creamer. Her A La Mode Style adds a fluffy hood, feather-adorned hat, thigh-length boots, and a flowing cape-like layer.

Her background reveals a deep bond with Miku. Moving next door to Ichika Usami in civilian life, Ichika initially develops a crush, mistaking her for a boy. After the Kirakiraru Thief Bitard steals chocolate meant for Miku, Akira witnesses Ichika transform to defend the treats. Fueled by protective determination, Akira gains her Cure powers and defeats Bitard. Ichika later learns Akira’s true gender from Akira’s father.

Key conflicts include rescuing Miku when villain Julio drains her Kirakiraru. Despite injuries and friends' confinement, Cure Chocolat breaks free using an empowered cake, defeats Julio, and shares a promise with Miku to bake together. Later, antagonist Elisio exploits their bond by taking Miku hostage, accusing Akira of neglect. Akira rejects his manipulation, declaring she will protect everyone without compromise.

Relationships drive her growth: with Ichika, they evolve from neighbors to trusted allies; with schoolmate Yukari Kotozume, initial clashes over selflessness versus fickleness mature into friendship and romantic tension, marked by joint episodes and a love-song duet. Her dynamic with villain Salty Pepper involves captivity and abuse before she teaches Salty Pepper to reject obsessive love.

Conceptually, her design and transformation reference Takarazuka Revue musicals, emphasizing her boyish charm. Her name, Kenjō Akira, combines "sword" (Ken), "castle" (Jō), and "bright/clear" (Akira), with "Ken" phonetically evoking "dog" (Inu). "Chocolat" derives from French and Nahuatl origins.

She appears in the *Precure Super Stars!* film alongside other Cures.
