Description
Ritchie, an orphan, grew up in Londinium alongside Lyde. As children, both were rescued by the Player Jimi Stonefree; Lyde later sketched the event to preserve the memory. As a young adult, Ritchie has short black hair and typically wears an unbuttoned black jacket without a shirt beneath. He and Lyde found work at a repair shop. Their circumstances shifted when Nir arrived needing amplifier repairs. Both left work mid-shift—Lyde to test the amplifier with Nir, and Ritchie to pursue a romantic interest—resulting in their dismissal. They then resided with Vivienne, an elderly woman who offered them shelter. Discovering broken equipment from Londinium's Patrol Squad, they worked to restore it, motivated by Lyde's desire to retaliate against the city's perceived arrogance.

By Christmas, the repairs were complete. During an Earless attack on Londinium, Lyde transformed into a Player and piloted the equipment, with Ritchie accompanying him. They confronted the Earless but were overwhelmed. Both appeared defeated alongside the enemy forces by Mu piloting Duel Showman. Ritchie and Lyde survived the encounter. Frustrated at being presumed dead, they later enrolled as students at FFreak Scene Academy, joining Nir who was already attending. Trivia notes suggest the character draws inspiration from Sid Vicious, bassist of the Sex Pistols, connecting to the series' musical themes.
