Description
Arisa Ichigaya is a third-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and student council vice president. She plays keyboard for the band Poppin'Party, practicing mostly in the basement of Ryuuseidou, her family's pawnshop. This basement is where Kasumi Toyama found the star-shaped "Random Star" guitar. Arisa's grandmother runs Ryuuseidou, and they seldom celebrate Christmas together.
Arisa has long, slightly curled blonde hair usually styled in two pigtails secured by ribbons. Her bangs are mostly parted, with a few curled strands sticking up, held by cross-shaped clips on her forelocks. Her light brown eyes give her a gentle look. She prefers mature, feminine clothing with lace or floral details, often choosing long skirts. Her winter outfit consists of a black sweater with white lace, a light-brown high-waist skirt, black tights, white pom-pom hair ties, and a four-flower necklace. In summer, she wears a sleeveless white-and-black striped shirt, a yellow high-waist skirt with a belt, black ballerina shoes, white ankle socks, and a small necklace with a red ribbon.
Academically gifted, Arisa achieves excellent results despite calling herself lazy and naturally introverted. Before joining Poppin'Party, she often stayed home helping at Ryuuseidou, leading to school rumors she was a ghost due to her absences. Her hobbies include tending to bonsai plants—which she names and talks to daily, using names like Tamagawa, Tonegawa, and Popipa—and browsing the internet. She dislikes leeks but enjoys anmitsu, brown rice, and hard-boiled eggs. She habitually overpacks for trips, always including her favorite fluffy towel.
Initially sharp-tongued and moody, Arisa frequently argued, especially with Kasumi, stemming from an inability to express her emotions honestly. She blushed and stammered when complimented by bandmates and became flustered during friendly teasing. Despite denying it, she experienced loneliness easily and resisted relying on others, having been a self-described loner before making friends. After meeting Kasumi, she gradually revealed a kinder, more affectionate side and learned to value companionship. Her personal growth included shedding exaggeratedly polite speech used to project a "refined rich girl" image around new people.
Arisa took childhood piano lessons at the same music school as Tae Hanazono and Rei Wakana, enrolled in the Pianist Course. She quit due to waning motivation and middle school exam preparations. Kasumi inspired her to join Poppin'Party, prompting her to resume playing as their keyboardist. Her development shows increased openness: she joined the student council, actively participated in band activities, and deepened bonds with her bandmates. Moments highlighting her growth include jealousy when Kasumi practiced guitar with Tae instead of attending band sessions, shyness following Kasumi's enthusiastic hugs, and unspoken concern for Kasumi's well-being. Her solo song "Su-Suki Nanka Janai!" contains implied references to Kasumi, reflecting underlying affection. Interactions like Eve Wakamiya embracing her on the beach or Lisa Imai hugging her triggered flustered reactions, illustrating her evolving comfort with emotional and physical closeness.
