Description
Aichi Sendō started as a shy, bullied child until a pivotal encounter with Toshiki Kai gifted him the Blaster Blade card. This sparked his Vanguard passion, driving him to build a deck and seek Kai—who had moved away. Living with his mother and sister Emi, he initially lacked school interest until Vanguard instilled confidence and discipline.

Cardfighting reshaped his personality: once withdrawn, he grew assertive and strategic in tournaments, bolstered by friends' encouragement. However, acquiring PSYqualia—a psychic power granting fight precognition—triggered a dark shift. Adopting Shadow Paladins amplified his arrogance and ruthlessness, mirroring Ren Suzugamori. Kai later helped him reject PSYqualia's control, though self-doubt lingered, eased by shop-tournament camaraderie.

In later seasons, he faced high-stakes matches with calm determination, like against Christopher Lo. When Royal Paladins were replaced by Gold Paladins, initial confusion turned to respect after battles against fighters such as Kourin Tatsunagi and Soryū Leon. Founding Miyaji Academy’s Cardfight Club showcased his leadership, with friends noting his intense focus during matches. Socially, he remained nervous, overlooking cues like Kourin’s affections or Naoki Ishida’s connection attempts.

His appearance evolved: long blue hair with a signature right bang in Hitsue Middle School’s uniform and red sweater shifted to shorter hair and increased height at Miyaji Academy, where he wore a black blazer with red linings, white shirt, and red tie. Link Joker corruption altered his look further—red-and-black Quatre Knight-style coats, shorter hair, dull eyes, and a menacing aura.

Abilities surpassed gameplay: initially a conduit for Cray’s Royal-Shadow Paladin war, PSYqualia granted visions of Planet Cray and strategic foresight. Post-Link Joker, he manipulated memories—erasing his existence globally—and rewrote timelines. Hosting Link Joker’s seed bestowed teleportation, energy projection, and elemental power-bestowal upon Quatre Knights. He created cards like Companion Star Star-vader, Photon for Kourin and suppressed Link Joker’s influence through spiritual resilience.

Infected by Link Joker’s seed after defeating its emissary, he isolated himself in a lunar sanctuary to contain it. He erased all memories of his existence and appointed Quatre Knights as guardians. Corrupted, he turned cold and cruel, attacking allies like Kourin and Phillip Neve. He fought Kai ruthlessly to maintain his sacrificial seal protecting Earth and Cray, until friends’ solidarity changed his resolve. Kai’s victory freed him, restoring memories and dissolving the sanctuary.

Later studying abroad in America, he aided allies like Ibuki in Plan G, sending Stride Force to Chrono Shindou. He returned briefly during summers to confront threats like Gyze, forcing Team Q4 to compete without him. Eventually, he joined Kai to thwart Chaos Breaker Dragon’s resurgence, culminating in a final battle against the Dragon Deity of Destruction.

*Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -IF-* explored an alternate timeline where he never met Kai nor received Blaster Blade. Timid and isolated, he developed twisted PSYqualia upon learning of his erased destiny. Leading "Jammer," he wielded Majesty Lord Blaster to eliminate Vanguard and distort reality. Defeated by Ibuki, Ren, and Kai, the original timeline restored; he later participated in events with Emi and Shuka.
