Movie
Description
Based on the lineage of Concert Masters, Takuto Tatsunagi bridges Earth and Planet Cray. He commands the powerful Tatsunagi Foundation, sponsoring global Vanguard tournaments to identify fighters capable of impacting Cray. To maintain cosmic balance, he employs morally ambiguous tactics, including manipulating memories and orchestrating conflicts among cardfighters. He erases the memories of Suiko, Kourin, and Rekka, transforming them into his adopted daughters and operatives known as "Called Walkers" or Team Ultra-Rare; they monitor chosen fighters and assist his missions.
During the Asia Circuit, Takuto orchestrates an international tournament to recruit leaders for Cray's war against the interdimensional entity Void. After Void captures key clan leaders, he erases the existence of the Royal Paladin, Shadow Paladin, and Kagero clans from Earth, replacing them with Gold Paladin and Narukami. He guides Aichi Sendou and others to unlock the essential Limit Break power for combating Void. Betrayed by Leon Soryu of Team Dreadnought, who allies with Void and scatters the chosen teams across Cray, Takuto aids Aichi in restoring memories and clans, leading to Void's temporary defeat.
Post-Asia Circuit, Takuto allows Ultra-Rare to live normal lives, enrolling them in schools. He later becomes the primary vessel for Void's resurgence through Link Joker, transforming into a Reversed entity. As Reversed Takuto, he spreads Void's influence by creating Reversed fighters, including Kai Toshiki, aiming to consume Earth via dimensional gates. Trapped within, Takuto's consciousness collaborates with Leon to resist possession, providing Aichi with a countermeasure against Link Joker. Aichi defeats Reversed Takuto using Monarch Sanctuary Alfred, severing the connection to Cray and ending the invasion. During this clash, Void's essence (the "seed") transfers from Takuto to Aichi. The original Takuto sacrifices himself, dragging his Reversed counterpart into the portal while thanking Aichi and his allies.
In the film *Neon Messiah*, Takuto is resurrected via the Origin Shrine's power to combat the Deletors and Planet Brandt, threats to both Earth and Cray. He seeks a fighter worthy of wielding Harmonics Messiah to halt their destruction.
In the V Series continuity, Takuto similarly oversees the Vanguard circuit but faces deletion by Kouji Ibuki. This severs his bond with his avatar, Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel, allowing the entity Brandt to possess him, turning him into the "Destiny Conductor." As Brandt's vessel, he orchestrates the deletion of fighters to empower Brandt's homeworld. His brother Nome succeeds him as head of the Tatsunagi Foundation after his disappearance. In the *Extra Story -IF-* spin-off, Takuto investigates timeline distortions but is captured and imprisoned by a corrupted Aichi Sendou.
Takuto embodies lawful neutrality, prioritizing cosmic balance over individual welfare. Actions like memory manipulation and forced servitude are justified as necessary for his role, though he develops paternal guilt toward Ultra-Rare over time. His connection to Blond Ezel is signified by a green forehead mark, replaced by red when Reversed or possessed. He grants psychic abilities (PSY Qualia) to fighters like Ren Suzugamori and Aichi Sendou, indirectly causing conflicts stemming from their misuse of power.
