Originally a laborer fleeing his village’s ruin by invading soldiers, he allies with Coda, a cat, after their home is razed. Despite lacking verbal communication, shared purpose bonds them. Their coalition grows to include Alegro, a defecting military hound, and Minuet, a hen escaping industrial captivity.

After aiding Rondo, a peace-seeking extraterrestrial, the group receives transformative leaves granting human forms. As a drummer in a musical collective, Largo channels rhythmic artistry to amplify anti-war messages. Rising fame briefly dulls their urgency, but witnessing civilian suffering and clashes with Presto, their ideological foe, rekindles their fervor.

Captured by Presto’s regime, Largo shifts back to donkey form to engineer an escape, ferrying human comrades to freedom—showcasing adaptability and loyalty. In the final conflict, he aids covert operations to breach the antagonist’s fortress, confronting peril with unflinching resolve.

His history as a laborer fuels pragmatic endurance, while camaraderie drives his evolution from a fugitive to a strategic force within the resistance. Post-war, Largo continues advocating peace in hybrid form, bridging communication between humans and wildlife through his dual identity.
