Description
Kuroh Yatogami, once a vassal of the Colorless King Ichigen Miwa, later pledges allegiance to the Silver King, Yashiro Isana. Born January 5, 1994, he suffered profound tragedy in childhood, losing his entire family to accidents that branded him an "Angel of Death" among surviving kin. At seven, stranded in the mountains, he was rescued and adopted by Ichigen, who trained him in swordsmanship and philosophy. Inheriting the blade Kotowari after Ichigen’s death, Kuroh vowed to assess his mentor’s successor and eliminate them if corrupted.
Initially distrusting Yashiro—whose likeness mirrored a murder suspect—Kuroh pursued him with lethal resolve. Yet witnessing Yashiro’s choices eroded his certainty, leading him to forge a protective alliance with Yashiro and Neko, a Strain capable of sensory manipulation. This pivot shifted Kuroh from solitary enforcer to loyal comrade, guided by a creed valuing deeds over facades.
After the Academy Island Incident, Kuroh and Neko spent a year searching for Yashiro, who vanished post-conflict with the Colorless King. Their quest intersected with remnants of HOMRA, uniting them against the Green Clan JUNGLE, which targeted Anna Kushina’s tracking prowess. Facing Yukari Mishakuji, Ichigen’s former disciple, Kuroh reaffirmed his oath to Yashiro as the Silver King, cementing his loyalty.
Kuroh’s journey involved reconciling Ichigen’s rigid teachings with the nuances of trust. Bonds with Yashiro and Neko tempered his sternness, unveiling empathy and dry humor. A tape recorder preserving Ichigen’s messages remains a tangible link to his past, even as he nurtures newfound connections.
Later, he aided in defending the Gold King’s tower and bolstered Anna’s rise as Red King. His path balanced duty with growth, culminating in steadfast dedication to Yashiro’s vision after the Dresden Slate’s fall. In the aftermath, Kuroh stood unwavering at Yashiro’s side—embodying his transformation from a solitary enforcer to a devoted guardian within an unlikely family.
