Description
The character known as One-Eyed Middle Class Yōkai appears in the series as a minor antagonist. His physical appearance is characterized by a single large eye, two horns protruding from his head, and a red-colored body, and he is typically seen wearing a kimono and a haori.
This yōkai, alongside a blue ox-faced yōkai, regularly tormented a younger, weaker fox spirit through verbal taunts and physical beatings. They stole items from the fox spirit, such as fish he had caught or a white hat he had found, and framed him for toppling over a bucket during an Autumn Festival, which caused the fox spirit to be blamed by a human who could not see them.
Their actions were driven by a desire to assert dominance and force the fox spirit to leave their shared forest. They ended their bullying and fled when confronted by the powerful exorcist Shuuichi Natori, who could see and combat them.
In a separate incident, a different one-eyed yōkai with similar characteristics—a single large eye and horns—appeared at Takashi Natsume's school. This yōkai actively pursued Natsume with the intention of eating him, explicitly stating he was attracted by his potent spiritual energy. The pursuit ended when the yōkai was defeated by Madara in his true form.
