Description
Takumi Fujiwara commands as the point guard and captain of Mizuho High School's basketball team, central to its dynamics and strategic execution. He possesses a strict, outspoken personality, readily vocalizing expectations and frustrations—a trait teammate Kazuhiko Aikawa links to his blood type. Fujiwara's past includes a significant first-year incident where he punched the team's coach after provocation, resulting in the coach's transfer and a one-year tournament ban for the entire team, leaving the team in disarray until its revival. He also manages an old knee injury sustained during a game with longtime friend and teammate Ranmaru Miura, requiring ongoing rehabilitation for flexibility and performance as the team prepares for the prefectural tournament.

On the court, Fujiwara ranks among the nation's top high school point guards, showcasing offensive and defensive skills that draw praise from rivals like Satoru Nagase. He leads Mizuho to a national championship title by defeating reigning champion Tendōji in the Inter-High finals. Despite this prowess, Aikawa notes Fujiwara does not equal Tendōji's star point guard Masato Sawanobori in skill, crediting Fujiwara as the primary motivation pushing him to exceed his own limits.

Relationships define Fujiwara. He is romantically involved with Mutsumi Akiyoshi, captain of Mizuho's girls' basketball team, whom he addresses by her first name. His closest bond is with Ranmaru Miura, a teammate since junior high. This friendship faces strain when Miura blames himself for Fujiwara's knee injury, though Fujiwara absolves him of responsibility. Close associates often call him "Taku."

Beyond basketball, Fujiwara favors long-haired, calm partners who understand him. His favorite food is sashimi, while he dislikes pumpkin and sweet potato. He admires basketball player Magic Johnson and listens to Western rock bands Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses, alongside Japanese artist Yutaka Ozaki. During games, he wears Adidas EQUIPMENT Basketball Hi shoes.

Fujiwara's journey focuses on growth as a leader and physical recovery. His determination to rehabilitate his knee and refine his playing ability reflects his commitment to the team's success. Under his captaincy, the team evolves from near dissolution to national champions, demonstrating his resilience and strategic acumen.
