Description
Jellymon is a Rookie-level Mollusk Digimon featuring a squishy, jellyfish-like head and a flexible body capable of complete retraction into this head. When compacted, she becomes light enough to drift on wind currents. Her physical design presents a light pink humanoid form with gray eyes, gradient-colored fingers, a black sleeveless leotard, striped leggings, and a blue jellyfish-inspired hat adorned with countless lime green-tipped tentacles. A pink target symbol marks the hat's front. She favors clean environments and behaviors, shifting into battle mode upon encountering foul actions.
As partner Digimon to Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai, Jellymon initially haunts him before materializing through his Digivice-V-. She embodies a strong-willed, queen-like personality, despises losing, and often engages in mischief—especially by startling Kiyoshiro, whom she affectionately calls "darling". Human activities intrigue her with playful curiosity, treated as games. Despite brash recklessness that sometimes escalates conflicts, she mirrors Kiyoshiro's fears when facing severe threats. Their dynamic fosters mutual growth, with Jellymon turning fiercely protective during crises like confrontations against water-devouring Digimon such as Weedmon.
Her evolutionary line spans Puyomon (Fresh), Puyoyomon (In-Training), TeslaJellymon (Champion), Thetismon (Ultimate), and Amphimon (Mega). Amphimon’s design blends an old-fashioned diving suit with mecha elements. Jellymon’s signature attacks include Startling Thunder (paralyzing static bursts from her tentacles), Volt Knuckle (an electrified punch), and Spiral Kick (a somersault kick launching foes).
Beyond the core narrative, Jellymon temporarily partners with Ruli Tsukiyono in episode 17 and Hiro Amanokawa in episode 40. She features in spin-offs like the *Digimon ReCollection* manga, the *Digimon Masters* video game as an obtainable Rookie-level Mercenary Digimon, and the *Vital Bracelet Digital Monster* series via the Jellymon DIM Card. Merchandise encompasses acrylic art reproductions, chibi plush toys, card game sleeves, and themed badges.
Character development traces Jellymon’s initial pacifism, aligning with her team’s aversion to lethal force against Digimon. Gradually, she prioritizes safeguarding loved ones, fueled by her bond with Kiyoshiro and fascination with human behavior. Her Mega evolution into Amphimon crystallizes this growth, tying it to themes of love and protection. This transformation, alongside her teammates’ final forms, signifies a thematic ascension within the story.
