TV-Series
Description
Nene appears in the series characterized by a tsundere personality and acknowledged poor cooking abilities, despite deep affection for her husband, Hideyoshi. Historically identified as Kōdai-In after taking tonsure, she was the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Her persistent devotion to Hideyoshi defines her across narratives, continuing even as he pursues other relationships to secure an heir.

During Hideyoshi's Warring States period campaigns, she actively participates in battles to support him and her "children" – key figures Kiyomasa, Masanori, and Mitsunori. She demonstrates combat proficiency, typically wielding flying blades. Her capabilities extend beyond direct combat to ninja techniques, utilizing covert paths for tactical movement and deploying ninja ambushes.

Following the deaths of Chacha's parents, Oichi and Katsuie, at Shizugatake, Nene evolves into a maternal figure for Chacha. After Hideyoshi's death, she observes the growing rift among her "children" but consciously refrains from direct intervention, believing they must resolve conflicts independently.

In scenarios involving supernatural or crossover elements, she leads independent ninja forces against threats like the serpent army. She maintains a recurring motif of preparing meals for her adopted family and utilizes unconventional transportation methods, such as a ninja kite, which sometimes leads to comical difficulties in landing. Her interactions blend nurturing guidance with moments of lighthearted scolding or correction directed at allies and adversaries.

Within the comedic framework of the anime's second season, her established traits – including tsundere behavior toward Hideyoshi and culinary shortcomings – continue to feature, contributing to the series' historical parody. Her involvement occurs amidst depictions of Oda Nobunaga's ongoing unification campaigns, where she appears alongside other adapted historical figures.
