Description
Hiroto is an elementary school student featured in the sixth anime adaptation, serving as Sōma's younger brother and Yūta's classmate. He sports short brown messy hair and blue eyes, typically dressed in a blue T-shirt with a yellow star on a white stripe layered over a long-sleeved black shirt, red shorts, blue shoes, and white socks.
His personality includes teasing classmates, especially Yūta, often joining Sōma in mocking Yūta's belief in yōkai. This occurs when Mana attempts to contact Kitarō via the Yōkai Post, leading Hiroto and Sōma to ridicule Yūta before mysteriously disappearing after Mana slips. Hiroto also acts as an irritating younger sibling, annoying both his brother and Mana.
In episode two, Hiroto attends "The Batteries" concert, where Miage-Nyūdō transports him and other audience members to the Spirit World. After the yōkai's defeat, he returns confused alongside Sōma. During episode twelve, Hiroto and Sōma fall under the control of the 808 Tanuki after they seize Japan's government. Both brothers wear tanuki tails to demonstrate allegiance and participate in bullying a child deemed "anti-tanuki." Mana confronts them, prompting threats to report her to the Gyōbu-Danuki before they depart, vowing to target the child again later. Following the 808 Tanuki's defeat, Hiroto reverts to normal alongside others.
