Deflotte Danois hails from Petale village, where his father was the local priest. After his mother's death, tensions flared when Deflotte rejected inheriting the priesthood, causing estrangement and his eventual departure. Years later, he returned to find Petale ravaged by a mysterious plague that petrified villagers into statues, later reanimated as violent creatures. He found the village overrun and encountered Alfred Albert's group during their investigation. Initially mistrustful, especially suspecting them of being Ecclesiastical Knights, Deflotte mourned at his father's grave. There, he recounted their conflict, revealing his father disowned him for abandoning the priesthood. Inside the village church, he discovered his father's diary detailing the priest's relentless prayers during the plague and a final entry expressing relief that Deflotte was spared the catastrophe. This melted his resentment into an understanding of his father's concern. When Ecclesiastical Knights arrived and threatened to execute the group for trespassing, a massive zombie attacked, overpowering the knights. Deflotte fought alongside Alfred's group to defeat it, employing a traditional charm that unexpectedly sapped the creature's strength. Following this battle, he resolved to accompany the group to the capital to uncover the plague's truth and his village's fate. Maurice Baudelaire, recognizing Deflotte's loyalty to his homeland and his potential, invited him to join the royal knights. Deflotte accepted, aligning with Alfred's cause. He possesses violet-to-dark blue hair and petrol-colored eyes. Before becoming a royal knight, he worked as a bounty hunter with a minor bounty on his head, wielding a spear as his weapon of choice.
