Description
Pitohui, real name Elsa Kanzaki, is a prominent Gun Gale Online (GGO) player and an emerging singer/idol in reality. Her real-world appearance is petite with long black hair, while her GGO avatar presents a sharp contrast: tall (over 175 cm), muscular, with brown skin, sharp features, and distinctive brick-colored geometric tattoos stretching from cheeks to neck. These tattoos were deliberately chosen to deter unwanted romantic advances. She typically wears tactical black and dark blue military gear in-game.

Her personality blends cheerfulness and informality with a deep-seated obsession for violence and high-stakes combat. She insists LLENN and M communicate casually, disliking formal speech. A dedicated gun enthusiast, she cycles through live-ammunition weapons exclusively during missions, ignoring more efficient options. She actively seeks intense battles, expressing disappointment when opponents surrender or die before direct engagement. Pitohui psychologically distances herself from her in-game actions by treating "Pitohui" as a separate entity from Elsa Kanzaki.

Her backstory includes VR gaming during the Sword Art Online incident and joining GGO at its inception. She first encountered protagonist LLENN while observing her window-shopping in-game. Recognizing LLENN as female, Pitohui initiated contact over tea, forging a friendship. She later guided LLENN to acquire a P90 submachine gun, leading to collaborative monster-hunting. Pitohui instigated LLENN’s entry into the Squad Jam battle royale tournaments, introducing her to M as a teammate when she couldn't participate initially.

During Squad Jam 3 (depicted in the second season), Pitohui's strategic and combat roles evolved significantly as part of the LPFM squad with LLENN, M, and Fukaziroh, navigating challenges like a sinking ocean liner. In the climactic confrontation against LLENN, she displayed uncharacteristic physical tenacity by scaling the ship using knives, countered by LLENN's tactical ingenuity. The intense close-quarters combat ended in a narrow victory for LLENN.

Following Squad Jam 3, Pitohui participated in a test play event where elite teams stormed an AI-controlled castle. Her expensive real-money acquisition, the M9A1 Bazooka, proved pivotal. The event revealed the "AI" opponents were former soldiers using GGO therapeutically to confront mortality.

Her complex relationship with M (Goushi in reality) involves alleged manipulation and abuse, both in-game and physically in real life, where she reportedly uses him as a "bodyguard" and "sex toy". Real-world violence includes an attack against him after he rescued her from stalkers, an incident omitted from anime adaptations. Her real-world age remains unspecified, though players speculate about it.
