Movie
Description
Mofurun began as an ordinary teddy bear, a gift from Mirai Asahina's grandmother. She gained sentience—the ability to speak and move—when Mirai and Liko Izayoi first transformed into Pretty Cures, finally expressing her deep wish to communicate with Mirai. Her speech uniquely ends every sentence with "~mofu," reflecting her name's link to the Japanese word for "fluff" (*mofu*).

Physically, she resembles a light-brown teddy bear. Her features include blue eyes with yellow star accents, a white stomach, pink cheeks, and a tan muzzle. She wears a fuchsia bow centered by a jewel compact and has distinctive markings: pink and purple stars on each ear and matching hearts on her paws. Transformed into Cure Mofurun, she becomes humanoid with curly auburn hair, retaining her bear ears and eye design. Her default Cure outfit features an orange jacket, translucent sleeves, red suspenders with gold bear clasps, light orange shorts, and mismatched gloves and boots adorned with bear details. Linkle Stones unlock additional forms: Ruby Style (twin-tailed hair, red/black attire), Sapphire Style (ponytail, navy blue/light blue garments), Topaz Style (doughnut-themed accessories, yellow/brown clothing), and Heartful Style (fluffy hair buns, pale orange wings, and a winged bow).

Mofurun embodies warmth, curiosity, and occasional gluttony. She often displays worry or sadness during peril. A responsible side emerges, particularly in caring for Ha-chan (later Cure Felice) and assisting Mirai and Liko with magical studies. Her gender identity is intentionally ambiguous; series staff defined it solely as "Mofurun," using design elements like pumpkin pants in her Cure form to emphasize androgyny. An early plan to confirm her as female was omitted from the final series.

She serves as a magical conduit for Mirai and Liko, detecting Linkle Stones by a "sweet smell" and enabling their transformations when they hold her paws. Her bond with Mirai is sisterly, extending to deep friendships with Liko and Ha-chan. Mofurun persistently shows kindness, even towards the initially hostile fairy Chikurun and the misunderstood bear Kumata, believing in their inherent goodness despite their actions.

In the film *Wonderous! Cure Mofurun!*, Mofurun's wish to stay with Mirai activates the Wishing Stone, transforming her into Cure Mofurun. Captured by Dark Matter (manipulating Kumata), she sacrifices herself to reach Kumata's suppressed kindness, temporarily perishing. Collective wishes from the magical world's inhabitants revive her, granting the Cures the Heartful Style to defeat Dark Matter. Though her Cure powers fade post-film, her emotional impact helps Kumata reconcile with his community.

During the Mahou Tsukai team's segment in *Dream Stars!*, Mofurun appears. Her jewel helps the Kirakira☆Pretty Cure a la Mode team identify her as a bearer of a "Jewel" symbol, facilitating their cross-team collaboration against antagonists threatening Sakuragahara.

Across media, Mofurun's journey centers on evolving from a cherished object to an active guardian, emphasizing themes of loyalty, empathy, and self-sacrifice. Her relationships and actions consistently position her as a bridge between the magical and mundane worlds.
