Movie
Description
Natsuki Nakagawa, a second-year Kitauji High School euphonium player, sports auburn hair in a high ponytail with two loose strands and blue eyes, standing 156 cm tall. Her uniform features a pleated skirt worn shorter than most, a white sailor-collar shirt, and a blue neckerchief. Casually, she prefers black, purple, or gray clothing with a boyish aesthetic. Originally depicted with short hair in the novels, her anime design features longer hair in a ponytail.

Initially projecting nonchalance and sarcasm, particularly during band activities, Natsuki's demeanor stems from a mass first-year resignation involving her friend Nozomi Kasaki. Beneath this relaxed exterior lies maturity, perceptiveness, and kindness. She often masks shyness and avoids vulnerability through teasing humor, especially directed at trumpet player Yuuko Yoshikawa. Their relationship includes playful arguments, karaoke sessions, and moments of genuine care. Natsuki gradually reveals loyalty and selflessness, offering quiet support to peers like Kumiko Oumae.

Natsuki joined the band in high school after Nozomi's invitation, drawn by its non-strict environment. She stayed after the resignation out of pride. Starting inexperienced, she skipped practices and failed her first audition. Inspired by new advisor Noboru Taki and Kumiko's dedication, she committed to improvement, practicing diligently on her Yamaha YEP-321 euphonium. When vice president Asuka Tanaka faced forced resignation for exams, Natsuki secretly prepared as a potential replacement, aiding efforts to keep Asuka for the national competition. After Asuka's graduation, she became vice president under Yuuko's presidency, balancing administration with mentoring juniors through pragmatic oversight and subtle encouragement, often diffusing tension with humor.

Post-graduation brought temporary emptiness, replaced by college engagement including a band with Yuuko where she plays bass guitar on a gifted Yamaha Pacifica 112V. She pursued hobbies like movies and karaoke, obtained a driver's license, and maintained friendships through trips.

Natsuki admires bears, evidenced by a yellowed bear charm on her euphonium case. She enjoys spicy food, cola, lemon soda, and cinnamon, disliking matcha, sweet foods, and red bean paste. Her skills include rapid mental calculations despite poor math aptitude and fluently singing English songs she doesn't fully comprehend. She identifies with jazz, rock, and punk genres.

Key relationships shape her: her rivalry-trust dynamic with Yuuko evolves into collaborative leadership; her initial indifference toward Kumiko shifts into mentorship and mutual reliance; admiration for Asuka's skill motivates her during Asuka's potential departure. She shares a junior-high background with Nozomi and Mizore Yoroizuka, influencing her decision to join the band.
