TV-Series
Description
Mel appears in *Ginga Densetsu Weed*, *Ginga Densetsu Weed: Orion*, *Ginga: The Last Wars*, and *Ginga Densetsu Noah*. As a puppy, humans abandoned him in the woods for crying over his mother, leaving him vulnerable and scarred. Rogue dogs Blue, Ned, and Bell found and manipulated him, demanding servitude like food theft in exchange for protection. This bred bitterness and distrust, especially toward his mother Lenny, whom he believed abandoned him. Under Blue’s orders, Mel attacked Lenny when she reclaimed him. But when commanded to kill her, he recognized her love and Blue’s deception. He turned against the rogues, fighting alongside Weed, GB, and Lenny. Lenny died shortly after from illness, catalyzing Mel’s emotional growth.

Rescued by Ohu soldier Smith, Mel joined Weed’s pack to find Gin. Initially timid and tearful, he grew resilient and brave. His small size and youth sparked self-doubt about his usefulness, but he remained eager to contribute and expressed deep gratitude for responsibilities. Fear or danger often triggered reflections on his deceased mother, whose memory fortified him.

Defending Ohu, Mel guarded Gajou Mountain and met Kai Ken Kurotora’s group—Shigure, Shouji, Dodo, and Buru. When Great Dane Genba threatened the fortress, Mel fled with Akame and Kurotora. Following Akame’s orders, he sought Weed to recruit allies. This led him to English Mastiff Moss, a former comrade of Gin. Moss declined immediate aid to gather forces, but Mel relayed critical information to Weed. Though his stature made him a repeated target for Hougen in the final battle, Mel survived and cemented his role as a loyal Ohu soldier.

Mel evolved into a kind, good-hearted, and polite individual. His unwavering loyalty to Weed’s pack persisted, and his combat skills improved, enabling him to defeat larger foes. Occasional hesitancy in peril reflected lingering self-doubt, but his commitment to protecting others consistently triumphed. His story continues in later series as a trusted Ohu soldier.
