Description
The entity "L'araignée" began as a mundane spider in a Japanese classroom obliterated by an explosion. A high-ranking entity, D, implanted this spider with the memories and personality of a deceased student, Hiiro Wakaba, to conceal Wakaba's fate. Reborn as a "Nameless" Small Lesser Taratect monster within the perilous Great Elroe Labyrinth, it possessed human consciousness and RPG knowledge, viewing the world through game mechanics like skills, levels, and evolution. Survival demanded constant battle against dungeon monsters, hazards, and starvation, forging high intelligence, adaptability, dark humor, and situational morality. Initially nameless, it referred to itself internally as "I".
Through relentless combat and consumption, the entity evolved progressively: Small Taratect, Horned Taratect, Zana Horowa. Power surged via acquired skills: Poison Synthesis, Thread Control, various Magic skills (including Spatial and Heretic Magic), and the Ruler skill Pride. Survival tactics involved creative problem-solving, exploiting weaknesses, and strategic retreat. A major conflict erupted when it attacked a Queen Taratect's soul, provoking Ariel, the Origin Taratect and Demon Lord, who perceived a threat to her kin and repeatedly attempted execution. During a confrontation involving Ariel and the Earth Dragon Gakia, the entity's Parallel Mind ("Body Brain") attacked Ariel's soul directly, triggering a protracted mutual soul devouring. Their souls merged, blending Ariel's cautious, serious, vengeful nature with the entity's carefree, hyperactive, pragmatic, reference-prone mindset. The fusion transferred knowledge, including Japanese cultural concepts, and behavioral quirks like never leaving food. Ariel retained her core identity but became more aggressive and energetic.
Seeking to overcome communication barriers with humanoids, the entity pursued evolution into an Arachne, a special Taratect subspecies requiring the Pride skill and level 50. This resulted in a form with a humanoid upper torso atop a spider body, gaining speech and tool use while losing incompatible skills like Swim. The Arachne possessed dual brains (human and spider), enabling operation if one was destroyed, and a combined field of vision. Statistically, attributes like HP, MP, and combat capabilities increased significantly. Around this time, Ariel, failing to permanently kill the entity due to its consciousness transfer ability to offspring, proposed a ceasefire. Ariel attempted to control it by naming it "Shiro" or "White" (referencing its pale color), but the naming skill failed. Ariel abandoned her vengeance, recognizing the impracticality of destroying all potential offspring bodies. Their relationship shifted from hostility to a complex alliance and a deep bond resembling grandmother and granddaughter.
White traveled with Ariel, the vampire Sophia Keren (another reincarnation), and her butler Merazophis. White displayed observational skills regarding her companions' emotional struggles, offering blunt, often insightful advice, motivated partly by sympathy and partly by maintaining goodwill. Over time, Ariel fully relinquished her grudge for White killing her kin, with White even calling Ariel a "true saint" for her selflessness. White ascended to godhood, transcending the world's RPG-like System, adopting the name Shiraori. She learned the planet was dying from energy depletion. Shiraori formulated a plan to save it by destroying D's System, a curse harvesting energy from beings upon death. Destroying it would release accumulated energy to heal the planet but cause the immediate death of half humanity due to losing system-supported skills. Shiraori accepted this cost. In the future timeline (roughly fifteen years after her early dungeon survival), Shiraori served as commander of the Demon Lord's 10th Army. Her actions in this role, alongside Ariel's war against humanity, were part of gathering energy for her world-saving plan, though often perceived as antagonistic.
Personality is defined by high resilience, pragmatism, and a strong survival instinct forged in the dungeon. Internal monologues feature frequent pop-culture references, dark humor, and self-talk to cope with isolation and danger. The soul merger integrated Ariel's maturity, responsibility, deep care for kin, and strategic ruthlessness with Shiraori's eccentricity, positivity, and occasional pettiness. Post-merger, Shiraori exhibits bluntness, perceptiveness about others' emotions, and willingness to offer guidance, particularly to younger companions like Sophia, forming a sister-like bond. She maintains ruthlessness against threats but demonstrates loyalty and protectiveness towards family like Ariel and Sophia. Quirks include mimicking superhero poses and insisting on finishing all food. Shiraori tends to operate independently, often failing to fully communicate complex plans or motivations to others like Shun, leading to conflicts based on misunderstandings.
