Description
Born Annerose von Müsel in 771 UC (462 IC / 3571 CE) to an impoverished aristocratic family in the Galactic Empire, her childhood was marked by her mother Caribelle's death in a vehicular accident. This tragedy forced Annerose into a maternal role for her younger brother, Reinhard von Müsel, forging an exceptionally close bond. Residing in a middle-class neighborhood, she encountered Siegfried Kircheis, a boy roughly five years younger who was immediately awed by her. Annerose asked him to protect Reinhard, a lifelong promise Kircheis honored.
Annerose's life transformed irrevocably when her beauty, observed by a high-ranking nobleman, was reported to the Imperial Court. Kaiser Friedrich IV demanded her as a consort. Her father, Sebastian von Müsel, accepted 500,000 Imperial Marks in exchange, elevating her to nobility as Countess von Grünewald and confining her within Neue Sanssouci palace. Her existence there was defined by profound isolation and hostility due to her origins. Marquise Sussanna von Beenemünde, the Kaiser's former consort, orchestrated multiple assassination attempts against Annerose and Reinhard. Despite these adversities, Annerose displayed no resentment. After her father's death in 793 UC (484 IC / 3593 CE), she arranged his burial beside her mother. Later, when a plot by Marquise Beenemünde was exposed, Annerose advocated for clemency, urging Reinhard to forgive her before the Marquise's execution.
Within Neue Sanssouci, Annerose formed few connections; Viscountess Dorothea von Schafhausen and Baroness Magdalena von Westfalen were noted as her only friends.
Kaiser Friedrich IV's death in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE) triggered the Imperial Civil War. Following the conflict, Kircheis died protecting Reinhard. His death profoundly impacted Annerose, though her feelings remained privately guarded. When Reinhard questioned if she had loved Kircheis, she declined to answer directly. Annerose then withdrew to the Freuden Berge countryside, declaring she would not reunite with Reinhard until he fulfilled his vow to conquer the universe alongside Kircheis's memory.
After Reinhard established the Lohengramm Dynasty as Kaiser, Annerose was designated Grand Duchess and heir presumptive, though she abstained from his coronation. She later emerged from seclusion to endorse his marriage to Hildegard von Mariendorf, maintaining contact. In May 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE), during a Terraist assassination attempt targeting the pregnant Hildegard, Annerose intervened, incapacitating one assailant with a thrown statuette, enabling a rescue by Ulrich Kessler.
As Reinhard succumbed to terminal illness later that year, Annerose returned to nurse him until his death on 26 July 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE).
Historically, Annerose's significance lies in her indirect influence: her plight catalyzed Reinhard's ambition to overthrow the Goldenbaum Dynasty, reshaping galactic history. Contemporary observers like Julian Mintz acknowledged her existence as foundational to the rise of the New Galactic Empire.
