Annerose von Grünewald was born Annerose von Müsel into an impoverished aristocratic family. After her mother, Caribelle von Müsel, died in a car accident during her childhood, Annerose took on a maternal role for her younger brother, Reinhard. While the family lived in a middle-class neighborhood, she met Siegfried Kircheis, a boy five years her junior. Annerose secured his promise to protect Reinhard, a vow Kircheis honored until his death. Her life changed when a high-ranking nobleman reported her beauty to the Imperial Court, and Kaiser Friedrich IV compelled her to become his consort. Her father accepted a substantial payment, and in return for her compliance, she was elevated to Countess von Grünewald. This event ignited Reinhard’s fury and his determination to overthrow the Goldenbaum Dynasty to free her. At the Imperial Palace, Annerose endured isolation and scorn due to her humble origins. Her only allies were Viscountess Dorothea von Schafhausen and Baroness Magdalena von Westfalen. She faced hostility, including an assassination attempt orchestrated by Marquise Susanna von Benemunde. Despite this, Annerose displayed no bitterness and asked Reinhard to forgive the Marquise. When her father died, she arranged his burial beside her mother’s grave. After Kaiser Friedrich IV’s death, the succession crisis led to the Lippstadt Rebellion, during which Kircheis died saving Reinhard. Annerose then retreated to the countryside, refusing to see Reinhard again until he fulfilled his and Kircheis’s promise to conquer the universe. After Reinhard seized power and became Kaiser, she did not attend his coronation but was elevated to Grand Duchess and named heir presumptive. She later emerged to support his marriage to Hildegard von Mariendorf, visiting the couple before and after their wedding. In May 801 UC, Terraist assassins targeted the pregnant Hildegard; Annerose intervened by hurling a statuette to stun an attacker, enabling a rescue. As Reinhard succumbed to a terminal illness, she helped nurse him until his death on 26 July 801 UC. Throughout her life, Annerose exhibited resilience and emotional fortitude, and her existence fundamentally shaped Reinhard’s ambitions and the transformation of the Galactic Empire.
