Description
August Samuel Wahlen rose to High Admiral within Kaiser Reinhard von Lohengramm's Imperial Fleet. Born in 767 UC (458 IC / 3567 CE), he achieved lieutenant commander rank by 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE). As first officer on the cruiser *Hässliche Entlein* under Captain Reinhard von Müsel (later Lohengramm), he aided Reinhard in a secret December 792 UC mission to recover a stolen directional Seffle particle generator prototype from Count Herxheimer.
Selected for Reinhard's new admiralty in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE), Wahlen first commanded significantly at the Battle of Amlitzer (or Amritsar), where he ambushed and destroyed the Free Planets Alliance's Eighth Fleet (alternately called the Third Fleet). He subsequently helped suppress the Lippstadt Rebellion, fighting alongside Siegfried Kircheis and Cornelius Lutz at the Battle of Kifeuser (or Kyffhäuser), and participated in the Battle of Vermilion against the Alliance.
Kaiser Reinhard tasked Wahlen with spearheading the assault on Earth (Terra). During this mission, a Terraist fanatic stabbed his left arm with a poisoned knife, necessitating a coma-induced amputation to save his life. After the assault, he facilitated Julian Mintz's journey to Odin. Later, commanding his fleet at the Second Battle of Rantemario, a direct hit from Oskar von Reuenthal's fleet destroyed his prosthetic arm.
Wahlen also appeared in the *Spiral Labyrinth* storyline, assisting Reinhard and Kircheis on their mission into Alliance territory. His versatile fleet was deployed to subjugate the Terraist Church, causing it to miss the Second Alliance–Imperial War due to Wahlen's injuries.
Personally, Wahlen had at least one son cared for by his parents during his campaigns. Kaiser Reinhard recommended him for promotion to fleet admiral before Reinhard's death in 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE). Wahlen possessed red hair.
