Reiji, a former yakuza member linked to Otoha Yosuke, engaged in burglary activities with him, sharing a criminal past. During a violent confrontation with their former gang, Reiji was captured but rescued by Otoha. Reinforcements from the gang subsequently slain Reiji during their escape attempt. His death served as the catalyst for Otoha's retaliatory strike against the gang leader, who was also Otoha's brother-figure. This event became part of Otoha's backstory preceding his transformation into the Karas.
