Alfred Ober stands as the central protagonist. He is the son of Fernando Albert, a Knight Templar of Hortensia who sacrificed his life protecting the king during Duke Rugis Camellia's rebellion. After his father's death, Fernando's sword is delivered to Alfred by Maurice Baudelaire, a fellow knight who escaped the capital after losing his right eye in the conflict. This delivery triggers Alfred's recollection of a vow to his father: to become a knight and protect the Albert Dominion. Under Maurice's guidance, Alfred embarks on four years of rigorous combat training. He trains alongside Marius Casterede, a young boy rescued by Maurice during the rebellion. Alfred possesses chestnut brown hair and cerulean eyes. His attire includes a white cape with blue trim, a metal shoulder pad, dark brown bracers, and boots, displaying the Hortensia symbol. His sword remains strapped to his left side. Personality-wise, Alfred exhibits a reticent and emotionally reserved demeanor, coupled with a calm and gentle disposition. His actions are consistently driven by his commitment to his knightly vows and protecting his homeland. His journey culminates in death during battle. However, Mariel D'Hortensia, later revealed to be Marius Casterede, performs a forbidden act using hidden magnolia powers to revive him, an act constituting a significant taboo. This resurrection not only restored his life but also introduced an unknown presence or consequence within him.
