Chloe von Einzbern, also known as Kuro, is a twin existence formed from the sealed memories and faculties of Illyasviel von Einzbern. This separation resulted from a miscalculation during a sealing ritual performed by Irisviel von Einzbern, intended to allow Illya to live a normal life by suppressing her connection to the Holy Grail War. These sealed aspects developed a consciousness of their own, eventually manifesting as a distinct personality that utilized an Archer Class Card to create a separate physical form. She possesses tanned skin and white hair, appearing as a palette-swapped version of Illya, and often styles her hair differently. In her Archer form, she wears a feminine variation of EMIYA's attire, while donning a standard school uniform during classes. Chloe exhibits a calmer and more nonchalant demeanor than Illya, coupled with a devious, manipulative, and brazen nature. She skillfully uses personal insights to manipulate others and harbors deep bitterness over her sealing, directing resentment toward her parents and Illya, whom she believes desires her nonexistence. She takes pride in her original purpose and believes in confronting problems directly. Beneath her antagonistic exterior, she is caring, sweet, and timid, longing for a normal life, family, and purpose. After being accepted into the Einzbern family, she becomes better behaved yet retains her mischievous tendencies. As a thaumaturgical construct, Chloe must drain magical energy to sustain herself, preferring to do so by kissing other girls—a method she enjoys—with Illya and Miyu Edelfelt as her frequent targets. This necessity often leads to comedic situations. Her relationships are multifaceted: she regards Illya as a foolish but occasionally dependable sister, shares a close bond with Miyu Edelfelt—often prioritizing her over world-saving matters—and is openly affectionate toward her brother, Shirou Emiya. She recognizes EMIYA as an alternate version of Shirou and feels a connection to him. She also interacts with other characters, such as Child-Gil, whom she believes teases others, and expresses concern upon encountering Irisviel (Dress of Heaven) without proper attire. Chloe employs the abilities of the Archer-class servant EMIYA, specializing in weapon projection—favoring the twin swords Kanshou and Bakuya—and teleportation. Her skills include Mind’s Eye (False), Projection Magic, and Kiss Demon, along with class skills like Magic Resistance and Independent Action. Her Noble Phantasm is Kakuyoku Sanren: Triple-Linked Crane Wings, an Anti-Unit attack. Her development begins with hostility toward Illya, including attempts to eliminate her to become the sole Illyasviel. After intervention from Irisviel and the establishment of a pain-sharing curse between the two, a resolution is reached: Illya agrees to share her mana, and Chloe is officially adopted into the Einzbern family as Illya’s cousin. This allows her to experience the normal life she desired, and she becomes a supportive figure in subsequent adventures, including efforts to rescue Miyu from the Ainsworth family in a parallel world. Chloe also appears as an Archer-class Servant in Chaldea's Grand Orders, summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru, where she applies her skills and abilities in various missions and events.
