Description
Hasuta is a main character from the comedic anime series who is an alien of the Hasturan species. Despite his delicate and feminine features, which often lead others to mistake him for a young girl, he identifies as male. He attended space elementary school alongside his fellow aliens Nyaruko and Kuuko, making them his long-time classmates and childhood friends. Even in their youth, Hasuta was notably stronger than both of them, and he frequently acted as a mediator to stop their fierce altercations.

His background is tied to the cosmic business world, as he is the son of the owner of Carcosa Computer Entertainment, a famous and powerful video game company in space. He initially arrives on Earth with a specific mission from this family connection: to gather intelligence on human entertainment. However, he ultimately fails in this task and decides to remain on the planet. Following this decision, he becomes an agent of the Space Defense Agency, serving as a colleague and ally to Nyaruko and Kuuko as they work to protect the human Mahiro Yasaka from various extraterrestrial threats. To integrate into his new environment, he enrolls at Mahiro's school under the alias Hasuta Yasaka.

In terms of personality, Hasuta's normal demeanor is shy, obedient, and remarkably innocent. He is portrayed as the most gentle and polite member of the main group, notably being the only character who never swears at others. This soft-spoken and almost timid nature is central to his character. However, he possesses a distinct alternative state known as his power form. This transformation is triggered by physical contact to his torso, is described as painful, and dramatically alters his being. In this form, his appearance becomes taller, more mature, and overtly masculine, and his personality shifts to become confident, assertive, and commanding. This powerful alter ego is also known as the King in Yellow.

Hasuta's most defining motivation and a key driver of his role in the story is his deep romantic affection for Mahiro Yasaka. He openly confesses his love for Mahiro, and when Mahiro points out the obvious issue of their genders, Hasuta calmly states that his beloved simply happens to be male. Mahiro attempts to evade this confession with a noncommittal answer, but Hasuta's persistent and occasionally obsessive pursuit of Mahiro continues regardless, creating a recurring source of comedic tension and romantic rivalry, especially with Nyaruko.

His key relationships are central to the narrative. With Mahiro, he maintains a persistent and sincere, though largely unrequited, romantic pursuit. Despite Mahiro's attempts to deflect these advances, he treats Hasuta more gently than he does Nyaruko, often guiding him or checking on his emotional state, leading to a brotherly dynamic at times. With Nyaruko, he shares a close, long-standing friendship that is marked by playful bickering and physical comedy, such as her putting him in headlocks. With Kuuko, he has a more amicable relationship, though they are rarely seen fighting; they share a mutual care that emerges during more serious moments. His relationship with Luhy Distone begins in a state of distrust due to Luhy's negative opinion of his father, but it eventually evolves into a warm, sibling-like connection where Luhy looks after him with maternal care.

Hasuta's development is largely defined by his transition from a corporate spy sent on an intelligence-gathering mission to a committed resident of Earth and a dedicated agent protecting it. His character arc weaves his corporate heir background with his newfound sense of duty and his personal infatuation with Mahiro. While he often provides comic relief, his failed initial ambition and his loyalty to the Space Defense Agency add layers to his identity, blending responsibility and growth with the series' slapstick antics.

Regarding his notable abilities, Hasuta possesses the power of aerokinesis, granting him complete control over air. In combat, he employs this power to generate strong winds, create vacuum blades, and form suffocating vacuum fields around his opponents. As a testament to his strength, he is consistently portrayed as being more powerful than both Nyaruko and Kuuko, a fact established since their time together in space elementary school.
