TV-Series
Description
Yūsuke is a recurring character, initially a subordinate to antagonist Dr. Karigari alongside his close partner, Akira. Akira calls Yūsuke "Bro," though their precise familial link is undefined. Cheerful and loyal, Yūsuke frequently acts foolishly or impulsively. He is overweight with short brown hair, grey eyes, and typically wears a pink bandanna, a black jacket with blue trim, a yellow necklace, and baggy tan pants. An incident destroying the Tower of Babel detaches his head, leaving it displayed on a TV monitor he carries; this condition causes malfunctions and discomfort, with Karigari promising restoration after their final mission.

Yūsuke's background establishes him as Karigari's devoted follower, supporting the doctor's schemes despite lacking his personal grudges against the Mobile Rescue Police. Early on, he and Akira commit crimes like bank robbery and hijacking Walker Vehicles, resulting in arrest. After Karigari breaks them out, Yūsuke assists revenge plots, including attempts to destroy the Mobile Rescue Police headquarters using redirected sunlight and aiding the hijacking of the Weather Science Integration Research Lab. Their efforts often fail due to miscalculations or Drive Head team interventions.

Progressing from antagonist to ally, Yūsuke remains loyal when Karigari shifts focus to combating the Evil AI, a malevolent program threatening humanity. Key actions include delivering a critical virus chip to reporter Yuri Sasagawa to counter the Evil AI and participating in her rescue after her helicopter is shot down. During the climax against the Evil AI, Yūsuke and Akira join Karigari in a suicide mission to contain the entity within the Tower of Babel. They survive the explosion, though Yūsuke's head remains detached.

In the movie, Yūsuke, Akira, and Karigari operate secretly for months to defeat Terra, the Evil AI's humanoid form. They assist in capturing and remodeling the Cyclone Interceptor Drive Head to combat Terra. Yūsuke expresses shock upon learning the Drive Head pilot's identity but participates in the final battle, contributing to Terra's defeat. Karigari subsequently vows to restore Yūsuke and Akira's heads. Yūsuke's relationship with Akira emphasizes central camaraderie and mutual loyalty, while his dynamic with Karigari evolves from blind obedience to partnership rooted in shared purpose.
