Description
Mitsuhide Kuroda, nicknamed Ashura, is a martial artist mastering Nadashinyou-ryuu, the fighting style preceding Nadashinkage-ryuu. He attends a prestigious high school for the affluent, presenting as a calm, soft-spoken individual with a restrained demeanor. Kuroda exhibits kindness and empathy, carefully handling a deceased dog and praying for it. Despite his usual composure, extreme stress or combat provocation can trigger a transformation into a rage-driven state mirroring the deity Ashura, unleashing uncontrolled ferocity.

His past centers on tragedy during a karate tournament finals against his best friend, Masakazu Naruse. Kuroda delivered a roundhouse kick to Naruse's neck that initially appeared non-fatal. Naruse later collapsed and died from a brain hemorrhage caused by the blow. This event led Kuroda to swear off serious fighting to prevent a recurrence, and he regularly visits Naruse's grave to mourn.

Kuroda encountered Kiichi Miyazawa after intervening when a truck fatally struck a dog. Enraged, he demolished the truck bare-handed within minutes, displaying exceptional strength. Witnessing this, Kiichi learned Kuroda recognized his Nadashinkage-ryuu style, calling it "the art of life and death." Their initial handshake escalated into a brief physical confrontation, leaving visible marks on each other’s hands. Kuroda retreated when his romantic partner, Takako Kawashima, intervened, concerned continued combat risked lethal consequences given his history.

Later, Kiichi provoked Kuroda into a formal duel by calling him a murderer at Naruse's gravesite. During their fight, attacking hornets forced both to defend themselves using martial techniques. Amidst the chaos, Kuroda unconsciously executed the same fatal kick that killed Naruse, reigniting his combat instincts. The duel intensified as Kuroda revealed his Nadashinyou-ryuu mastery and succumbed to his Ashura state. Kiichi ultimately subdued him with the Hashin Shou technique, a palm strike inducing unconsciousness via sensory overload, temporarily stopping his heart. Kuroda survived, developing mutual respect with Kiichi and transitioning from adversary to ally.

Subsequently, Kuroda aided Kiichi's training, rescuing him from drowning during waterfall exercises and offering his own body as a training dummy to replace the punishing water impact. He later witnessed Kiichi successfully perform the Bosatsuken technique against an oncoming vehicle. Kuroda also attended Kiichi's match against judoka Gouji Kanou, providing analytical commentary on combat techniques before departing peacefully.

His known abilities include demolishing a truck unaided and employing specialized techniques like the Hashin Shou and the Mid-Air Four-Kick maneuver. Physically, he possesses a tall, muscular build with long dark curly hair. He typically wears biker-inspired attire: a black jacket, gloves, jeans, and boots, accessorized with a Christian cross necklace.
