Description
Born a peasant to a laborer serving Count Vance, Nyx endured constant abuse and humiliation throughout her childhood, particularly from Elina Vance whose torment culminated in her mother's death. This left Nyx burdened by profound feelings of worthlessness and a seething hatred for the world's perceived evil and irrationality.

Her existence transformed upon discovering Funikura, an ancient sentient staff of demonic visage featuring tentacles and a glowing red eye. The staff grants Nyx immense magical powers, though she possesses no inherent abilities, serving solely as an instrument for Funikura's will. This dependency creates a dynamic where Funikura punishes perceived weakness or hesitation with lewd and violent methods—tentacle control or neck constriction—enforcing compliance and triggering a shift to an aggressive, vengeful persona.

Nyx adopted a flamboyant costume: a red flame-patterned dress, purple stockings, bustier, and black collar. This serves both to deter underestimation by adversaries and to embody a new identity. Yet, beneath this outward assertiveness, her core remains that of a timid, insecure girl haunted by trauma. She addresses Funikura reverently as "Funikura-sama," remaining subservient out of fear of losing her borrowed power.

Her motivations center on proving her worth to her former oppressors and exacting revenge against Elina. She entered the Queen’s Blade tournament aiming to become queen, believing this would force others to acknowledge her superiority. In combat, she relies entirely on Funikura for pyromancy, specializing in mid-to-long-range fire attacks, while her own physical capabilities remain limited with low defense and agility.

Across media, Nyx’s confrontations with Elina vary: she typically suffers defeat, as seen in the anime *Queen’s Blade 2: The Evil Eye* and related manga, but achieves victory in novel adaptations and the game *Queen’s Gate: Spiral Chaos*. *The Evil Eye* features a notable scene of Funikura exerting tentacle-based control during a duel, reinforcing her subjugation.

Outside combat, Nyx demonstrates exceptional cooking skills, reportedly surpassing characters like Cattleya. Her relationship with her late mother remains a defining emotional anchor, often invoked when others plead for mercy by referencing their own mothers.
