Description
Raising Heart is an Intelligent Device discovered within ancient ruins on Midchilda by Yuuno Scrya during an archaeological expedition. Though inactive under Yuuno's temporary ownership, it fully awakened upon Nanoha Takamachi becoming its registered master. Its core functions center on assisting in magical energy processing, tactical analysis, and combat operations.

The device's name was officially romanized as "Raising Heart," while early translations rendered it as "Raging Heart" due to variations in Japanese romanization systems. This discrepancy stemmed from interpreting the kana "ジ," aligning practically with the English pronunciation of "Raising." The "Heart" component references an original design featuring a heart-shaped crystal, later replaced by a red sphere in the primary series.

Initially, Raising Heart operated in multiple modes. Standby Mode presented as a compact red spherical crystal capable of supportive magic and image training. Device Mode configured it as a staff for general magic assistance. Shooting Mode optimized it for bombardment spells like Divine Buster. Sealing Mode specialized in containment and large-scale spells such as Starlight Breaker.

After sustaining critical damage from Vita's Graf Eisen during the Book of Darkness incident, Mariel Atenza reconstructed Raising Heart. This upgrade incorporated a Belkan cartridge system, boosting mana output and enabling new configurations. Renamed Raising Heart Exelion, its forms included Axel Mode, retaining staff functionality with added cartridge slots for flight and defense; Buster Mode, enhancing Shooting Mode with mana wings for amplified attacks; and Exelion Mode, a high-output "Full Drive" state with rocket propulsion and Strike Flame capabilities.

Further developments occurred during Nanoha's service with the Time-Space Administration Bureau. Exceed Mode replaced Exelion Mode in *StrikerS*, featuring an Accelerate Charge System for improved energy management. Blaster Mode added three levels of power escalation, generating autonomous "Blaster Bits" for coordinated attacks at the cost of physical strain on both device and user.

In the *Force* manga continuity, Raising Heart adopted a Standalone Flight Mode, transforming into a floating unit with blade edges. This allowed auxiliary control, shielding, and melee combat while Nanoha wielded the two-handed Strike Cannon.

The movie continuity introduced distinct variations: Canon Mode, a redesigned Shooting Mode with a 180-degree rotatable trigger; Bustercanon Mode, the movie equivalent of Buster Mode; and Raising Heart Streamer, a post-*Detonation* reconfiguration integrated with the Formula Cannon system. Additional forms included Fortress Mode for armament synchronization with Nanoha's Barrier Jacket and Formula Mode, a nano-machine-enhanced state developed with a Variant Core.

In the *EXCEEDS* timeline, Raising Heart's design was simplified with standardized components, including cartridge and battery systems, retaining core functions while emphasizing cost-effective modularity.

Throughout all continuities, Raising Heart consistently provided tactical guidance, spell calibration, and emotional support to Nanoha. Its AI communicated directly, offering advice during battles and training, and reinforcing strategic principles like the importance of "Wisdom and Tactics" in combat. The device's origins remain partially enigmatic, with no prior users registered before Yuuno, and its full activation only occurring after bonding with Nanoha.
