Description
Naru Ayase is a petite 14-year-old girl standing at 145 cm tall, a stature linked to her premature birth. She possesses distinctive peach-colored hair often styled with a single curl and caramel-colored eyes, favoring feminine, pastel-colored clothing adorned with lace and ribbons. Born on March 3rd under the sign of Pisces, she lives in Tokyo with her parents, Ryūnosuke and Poemu Ayase, and their cat Blue.

Naru radiates a cheerful and optimistic personality, frequently exclaiming her catchphrase "Happy Naru!" Her defining trait is a synesthesia-like ability to perceive music as colors and vivid imagery when emotionally uplifted; however, emotional distress causes this ability to fade, often making her cry. Academically challenged and somewhat airheaded, she relies on peers for schoolwork help. Naru possesses exceptional talent for decoration, extending to Prism Stones—heart-shaped gems used in performances—and exhibits strong social perception and persistence in forming connections, even with initially intimidating individuals like classmate Ito Suzuno.

Her primary dream is managing a fashion boutique like Dear Crown. Pursuing a school work-experience program, she auditions at Prism Stone Harajuku. During this, a mysterious pink egg in her bag hatches into Lovelin, a penguin-like Pair Friend who becomes her companion. Despite forgetting her audition choreography, Naru's innate music visualization allows her to perform an impromptu Prism Show. Lovelin transforms into the legendary Seventh Coord's Lovely Dress and later a pink electric guitar for Prism Live performances, integrating instrumentals. Though interrupted by Rinne performing four consecutive Prism Jumps, Naru secures the manager position.

As manager, she recruits Ann Fukuhara for the sweets corner and Ito Suzuno for makeup, forming Prism Stone's core team. Naru initiates events like an Easter celebration using origami invitations and bunny-eared maid outfits. Leadership challenges arise during competitions; early losses stem from her team's focus on Prism Lives over scoring-focused Prism Jumps. Naru's jumps include Lovely Splash, 100% Pure Pure Arrow, Lovely Rainbow, and Super Happy Arrow Infinite. Needing a personalized "My Song" for competitions, she approaches musician Kouji Mihama. Initially rejected due to his belief songs reflect personal experiences, she conveys her inspiration through a picture book analogy. Kouji subsequently composes "Heart Iro Tori Dream," encapsulating Naru's joyful essence as her signature song.

She navigates interpersonal complexities, including unacknowledged feelings for Kouji that surface after facilitating his relationship with Ito. Her empathy aids Rinne, an amnesiac later revealed as a Prism World messenger tasked with spreading Prism Sparkle—magic sustaining performances. When rogue messenger June diminishes the Sparkle, Naru's determination reignites it during the Over the Rainbow Session. Post-competition, she helps Rinne return to the Prism World. Naru resigns from Prism Stone to achieve her dream as Dear Crown's manager and model, symbolizing her growth from novice to confident professional.

In spin-offs, Naru appears as a member of Saints, a legendary idol unit in PriPara, retaining her Happy Rain♪ coord design. Her character design evolves in King of Prism, depicting her with longer hair and increased height surpassing Ann's.
