Description
Naru Ayase is the main protagonist of Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live. She is a fourteen-year-old middle school student in the eighth grade. Naru has a Lovely-type personality, which is characterized by a bright, optimistic, and gentle nature. She is generally easygoing and tends to go at her own pace, though she can also be somewhat absent-minded or oblivious to the atmosphere around her. She is exceptionally skilled at decorating objects, often coating everything she sees with decorative embellishments, a habit that reflects her love for fashion and design. Her favorite store is the Prism Shop Dear Crown, and her long-held dream is to one day own a shop like it. After taking part in her first Prism Show, she unexpectedly becomes the shop manager of Prism Stone, a clothing store in Harajuku, where she works alongside her classmates Ann Fukuhara and Ito Suzuno. Naru possesses a unique ability to see the colors of music, perceiving melodies as visible hues and patterns. This gift allows her to connect deeply with her performances. She also forms a bond with her Pair Friend, Lovelin, which enables her to perform a special type of Prism Show known as a Prism Live, where she plays an instrument during the routine. Throughout the story, Naru serves as the heart of the Prism Stone team. She develops close friendships with Ann and Ito, and she cares deeply for Rinne, a mysterious amnesiac girl who becomes part of their group. Naru also forms significant connections with the rival trio from Edel Rose—Bell Renjoji, Otoha Takanashi, and Wakana Morizono—showing empathy and understanding even toward her competitors. As the series progresses, Naru learns about the Prism Sparkle, the magical force that sustains the Prism Shows, Pair Friends, and Prism Jumps. When the Prism Sparkle begins to vanish, Naru’s determination becomes crucial in bringing it back, demonstrating her growth from a carefree beginner into a key figure in the world of Prism Shows. Her catchphrase is “Happy Naru!”
