Notably, Scop's eyes appear or disappear depending on his emotional state, with a flame erupting from his left eye when highly motivated. In the distant past, his appearance more closely resembled that of a real mole. He claims life since shortly after the Great Disaster approximately 250 years prior. During this time, a mysterious woman appeared and taught him and other animals human language. Later, The Traveler created a flame that alleviated Scop's hunger and significantly extended his lifespan. This same individual constructed an Amaterasu-like structure before vanishing. His documented activities begin during the Chinese Peninsula arc, chased by a gigantic worm after stealing potatoes from New Qingdao. He jumped onto a nearby trunk, believing it contained troops who could assist him. Scop reappears during the Return to St. Raffles arc and the Post-Arthur's Adventure arc. Later, Scop travels to Tokyo to locate Shinra Kusakabe. He delivers a critical warning from the Woman in Black: the Great Cataclysm is imminent, and the first such event failed because the mathematical constant pi had not been fully calculated. This warning coincides with the Evangelist's followers initiating rituals for the impending catastrophe. During the Great Cataclysm arc, Scop perishes in the global cataclysm. However, Shinra Kusakabe manipulates time to reverse the event and rearrange reality, resulting in Scop being restored to life. Scop proclaims the title "Mr. Mole."
