Description
Aguri Madoka, also known as Cure Ace, is a primary school girl with a composed, calm, and wise demeanor beyond her years. Her strict adherence to rules can make her seem bossy or unintentionally hurtful. She speaks elegantly and has a strong appreciation for sweets like peach rolls and cakes. Aguri has burgundy eyes and long brown hair, usually styled with bangs pulled back. She typically wears a sleeveless red dress with white accents, magenta sneakers, and white socks, switching to a red jacket and burgundy boots in colder weather.
Aguri originates from the Trump Kingdom as the reborn good half of Princess Marie Ange’s heart. The princess split her heart in two to confront her father, King Jikochuu, who is also Aguri’s biological father. The other half became Regina, representing the part that loved their father. After a failed battle against King Jikochuu, Aguri reverted to infancy and was sent to Earth, where she was adopted by Mari. She fiercely protects Mari and also shields her classmate Morimoto Eru from bullies. Her name is an anagram hinting at her connection to Regina.
Using the Love Eyes Palette and the power of her fairy-like companion Ai, who views her as an older sister, Aguri transforms into Cure Ace. During transformation, she ages significantly, becoming taller than her fellow Cures. Her Cure Ace form has bright red curled hair, magenta eyes, and an elaborate red-and-black scalloped dress with a white jacket featuring gold heart accents, gold accessories, and knee-length boots. Initially limited to five minutes, this form’s duration became unlimited after gaining knowledge from the Eternal Golden Crown. Her attacks include Ace Shot, whose effect varies by lipstick color—red purifies, purple freezes, yellow traps with vines, and blue encases in bubbles—and Ace Mirror Flash, performed with the Magical Lovely Pad. She can power up independently, surrounded by a red light when fighting seriously.
Key relationships define Aguri: she cares for Ai as a sister, clashes yet cooperates with her rival Regina, and eventually reconciles with her restored father. After her series’ final battle, she improves relationships with classmates. She later temporarily becomes Cure Joker alongside Regina to confront new villains threatening the Trump Republic, strengthening their bond and encountering Marie Ange’s spirit. In the movie Eiga Precure All Stars: Minna de Utau♪ Kiseki no Mahō!, Cure Ace joins forty-four Pretty Cures uniting against the witch Solcière and her servant Trauuma. She is captured temporarily but later helps defeat Trauuma. In Eiga Precure All Stars New Stage 3: Eien no Tomodachi, she participates alongside other Pretty Cure teams to rescue children trapped in a dream world by the fairy Maamu.
