Description
Urara Kasugano is a first-year student at L'École des Cinq Lumières Middle School and a core member of the Pretty Cure warriors. Born to a Japanese mother and a French father, her mother's passing during her childhood significantly shaped her journey. Though naturally cheerful and polite, she was initially too shy to be herself around others until her deep friendship with Nozomi Yumehara helped her become more open and confident. Her demanding schedule as a young actress left little time for friendships outside her core group.
Even before joining the Pretty Cure team, she deduced Nozomi and Rin's identities as Cures, possibly aided by her role in a theatrical production mirroring the Pretty Cure Splash Star story. Witnessing Nozomi and Rin in battle and inspired by Nozomi's encouragement to "be herself," Urara intervened. This act summoned a yellow butterfly that became her Pinky Catch transformation device, allowing her to become Cure Lemonade, the Pretty Cure of Effervescence, declaring: "Effervescent Scent of Lemon, Cure Lemonade!".
As Cure Lemonade, she commands the element of light, wearing a bright yellow, distinctly feminine and flouncy outfit. Her primary attack, Lemonade Flash, releases yellow butterflies to purify enemies. She later gains upgraded forms and weapons: the Lemonade Castanet enables Lemonade Shining, and the CureMo device in *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!* allows new transformations and the Prism Chain attack, which creates butterfly-shaped chains to immobilize foes. She contributes to team attacks like Five Explosion and Rainbow Rose Explosion.
Her character develops across her story. Balancing her acting career with Cure duties in *Yes! Pretty Cure 5*, she releases her debut song "Extraordinary! Door of Courage" after overcoming hesitation about singing. Despite setbacks like a failed audition, she remains dedicated to her dream of becoming an actress to honor her mother. In *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!*, she bonds with the fairy Syrup, who gradually opens up to her, and releases a second song, "Twin・Tail Magic ~Fling Open The Door~".
In the film *Yes! Pretty Cure 5: Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken!*, she achieves Super Cure Lemonade form using Miracle Lights, gaining enhanced powers and butterfly wings for flight. In *Pretty Cure All Stars DX2: Kibō no Hikari—Rainbow Jewel o Mamore!*, she joins the united Cure team protecting the Rainbow Jewel—a gem embodying the world's hopes and dreams—from Bottom. Here, she temporarily upgrades to Cure Rainbow Lemonade, featuring small golden wings and a design reminiscent of other Shining forms.
