TV-Series
Description
Rikka Hishikawa, alias Rachel Bennett in the English adaptation, anchors the series as a 14-year-old second-year student at Oogai First Middle School (Sea Shell Bay Middle School). She holds the student council secretary position and excels academically, ranking among Japan's top ten in national mock exams while consistently placing first at her school. Her grades occasionally slip when absorbed in hobbies like competitive karuta (adapted as a spelling bee).

Her civilian appearance showcases navy blue hair with a small braided section, dark blue eyes, and optional red-framed glasses. She favors a light blue dress layered over a white blouse, accented by a dark blue ribbon, brown boots, and dark socks, switching to a white sailor-style dress with blue details in summer.

Calm, observant, and introverted, Rikka balances her energetic childhood friend Mana Aida. She voices bluntly honest opinions, grounding Mana’s impulsiveness during their decade-long friendship. Rikka deeply trusts Mana due to her longstanding protectiveness. Her mother works as a local hospital doctor, while her father travels as a photographer; she corresponds with him regularly. Inspired by childhood experiences, she aspires to become a doctor—a goal she temporarily questions during an identity crisis before recommitting.

After uncovering Mana’s identity as Cure Heart, Rikka initially rejects joining the team but accepts her destiny as Cure Diamond when the fairy Raquel (Rory) gifts her a Cure Lovead (Glitter Charm). Her transformation requires inserting the Lovead into Raquel’s medallion, spelling "L-O-V-E" on her Lovely Commune (Glitter Pad), and declaring "Pretty Cure, Love Link!" ("Glitter Force Makeover!"). As Cure Diamond, she announces, "The light of wisdom! Cure Diamond!" ("Glitter Diamond!").

Cure Diamond’s design features light indigo hair in a knee-length ponytail with curled strands, diamond earrings, a gold choker, and bracelets. Her light blue costume includes asymmetrical feathered sleeves, white accents, a blue heart brooch, and white boots with blue cuffs. Her ice-based abilities encompass:
- **Twinkle Diamond**: Diamond-shaped energy beams that freeze foes.
- **Diamond Shower**: Summons the Love Heart Arrow (Glitter Heart Arrow) to unleash diamond waves.
- **Diamond Swirkle** and **Diamond Blizzard**: Enhanced ice attacks via the Magical Lovely Pad.
She collaborates in group techniques like Lovely Force Arrow (Togetherness Power Arrow) and Lovely Straight Flush (Five of a Kind Glitter Bow), upgraded to Royal Lovely Straight Flush—granting temporary angelic wings.

Key arcs include resolving jealousy toward teammate Makoto Kenzaki over Makoto’s bond with Mana through mutual understanding. Later, she shields the amnesiac villain Ira from Cure Ace, an act of empathy that inspires his eventual allegiance shift.

Trivia notes: "Hishikawa" blends "hishi" (diamond shape) and "kawa" (river), while "Rikka" means "snow" or "six flowers." She shares traits with intellectual magical girls like Sailor Mercury—theme color, glasses, and family professions—and ranks as the third Pretty Cure with civilian-form glasses and second with a diamond motif.
