Description
Sergeant "Ghost" is a Marine in the Hades Corps of the UNSC Corps of Engineers, known for a cold and emotionally detached demeanor often perceived as sadistic, showing little to no emotion in combat. The call sign "Ghost" originated from an incident where an entire platoon under command was decimated during heavy engagement with Covenant forces. A dying Marine from that platoon questioned the call sign, noting that feelings seemed to pass through this character, describing a cold and unforgiving nature in every battle choice. With final words, that Marine requested this character to "be human" for once, a plea that left a profound impact.

Following the event, this character was deeply disturbed, crying out into the sky and vowing to avenge the fallen platoon. A part of this character died inside at that moment, fully embracing the call sign as a shadow surrounded by death.

This character was later deployed with the Hades Corps to the planet Algolis during the Battle of Algolis. The mission was to destroy navigation material and prototype weapons in compliance with the Cole Protocol. Covenant forces attacked the UNSC Weapons Research Facility T12A, and the Marines were tasked with covering civilian evacuations while engineers destroyed sensitive data and technology.

During the battle, this character disobeyed direct orders to destroy a prototype powered battle armor suit. Instead, the suit was commandeered to provide cover for the evacuation of Marines and civilians. This decision was justified as using the remaining time until the suit's self-destruct initiation to ensure the safety of personnel. The suit engaged Covenant forces on the ground and in the air, dealing significant damage.

In the final stages, the prototype suit was overwhelmed by Covenant forces. Its shielding failed, and a plasma grenade severed the suit's left arm, along with the pilot's arm, disabling the suit. With evacuation shuttles safely away, the system requested a voice command to activate the nuclear self-destruct function. The final words spoken were "be human," triggering the explosion that destroyed the suit, this character, and the surrounding Covenant forces.

A Marine commanding officer in orbit above Algolis later edited the official log of events. Previous requests for court-martial were redacted, and this character was listed as Missing In Action. The log noted a demonstration of great conduct as a Marine and as a human being.
