Description
Mitsuko Kongō arrives at Tokiwadai Middle School as a second-year transfer student following dedicated preparation. Born into luxury as the heiress to Kongou Aviation Industry, she was accustomed to doting servants before entering Academy City. Dissatisfied with her initial school, she secured a transfer to the prestigious Tokiwadai despite its demanding standards and now resides within its School Garden dormitory.

Her appearance features long, neatly maintained black hair with blunt bangs emphasizing a prominent forehead. She possesses an attractive, well-endowed figure she openly displays, especially during swimwear modeling. Mitsuko consistently carries a Japanese fan as her signature accessory.

Her personality exhibits pronounced pride and an ojou-sama demeanor, frequently causing initial friction, notably with Shirai Kuroko. This arrogance fuels boasts about her abilities and lineage, often exaggerating her accomplishments. A sheltered upbringing left her ignorant of mundane tasks like navigation or proper utensil use. Yet, beneath this exterior lies a genuinely honorable and kind-hearted core. She values friendship deeply, demonstrating loyalty by aiding Mikoto Misaka after defeats, collaborating with Kuroko to protect others, and showing warmth to children like Febrie. Development reveals increasing vulnerability and a strong desire for social connection, gradually lessening animosity towards Kuroko while retaining confidence in her abilities.

As a Level 4 esper, her power is "Aero Hand" (空力使い, Kūriki Tsukai), manipulating wind via "ejection points" on surfaces. She generates gusts to propel objects—or even air—as projectiles. Operational parameters include creating and activating up to 8,092 points simultaneously, generating sufficient force to launch structures like satellite dishes. Combat applications involve propelling debris against opponents or using air bursts for mobility.

Her chronology spans multiple arcs. In the *Tree Diagram Remnant Arc*, she attempts to recruit Kuroko for a faction while boasting about reaching Level 5, interrupted by Mikoto’s power display. During the *Daihasei Festival*, she competes in ball-tossing events and insults rival teams. The *Poltergeist Arc* sees her hospitalized after an esper incident; she later aids Mikoto covertly and allies with Kuroko against MAR units defending comatose children. In the *Silent Party Arc*, she protects Febrie, confronts criminals publicly, and influences Mikoto’s decisions amid external criticisms.

Later appearances include the *Element Arc*, where she helps defend School Garden before falling victim to Kihara Yuiitsu's attacks, and the *Kamisato Rescue Arc*, where she resides in a hospital shelter. During the *New Year’s Arc*, she participates in costume riots under Acute Kotatsu Syndrome’s influence alongside Uiharu Kazari and Ruiko Saten.

Daily life includes owning a pet ball python named Ekaterina. She bonds with classmates Awatsuki Maaya and Wannai Kinuho after admitting her inability to cook curry. These friendships, alongside her evolving dynamic with Mikoto and Kuroko, chart her growth from isolated transfer student to integrated peer.
